MTV Unplugged

I don't know what happened to this show. But this was one of the few things that MTV did that I actually really enjoyed. What are your thoughts and favorite Unplugged performances? Off the top of my head I remember liking these:

 

Nirvana

Alicia Keys

Jewel

Lauryn Hill

 

Here is an episode guide...I don't remember a lot of these...but would really like to see some of them.

I don't know the answer to that because I never saw Unplugged, but if I understand the concept right then there is a similar show on CMT that I love called Crossroads. My favorite episodes were Taylor Swift with Def Leppard, Dave Matthews with Emmylou Harris, and Kid Rock with Hank Jr.

That stinks, because I really like the show. I wish a music-themed station that promoted good music would become commercially viable sometime. From the little I have watched MTV in the last 5 years, they can't even be called a music station anymore.

Probably my favorite live cd of all time. I still listen to this several times a week.

I love both of them, especially Lauryn's.

I'm glad to hear Jay-Z's Unplugged get mentioned so much because it might be my favorite. I also have Nirvana and Alice In Chains. LL Cool J also did one years ago that I remember because "Mama Said Knock You Out" with a live band, including a really amazing piano part, was just spectacular.
