Long week for the Ads. Probably tough to play due to the circumstances, but at the same time it was probably somewhat good to get out of Danville for a little bit. I'd have liked to have seen this game and how it would have turned out had this been a regular week for the Ads. You'd be naive to think that the recent events in Boyle County didn't affect this team.

What events?

The Ice Storm that turned Danville/Boyle County into a desolate looking war zone. No power for over at least 90-95% of Danville/Boyle County and I would say that maybe 50% of power has been restored. Most of the power that has been restored has been restored to some of the county areas. I know plenty of people living in the city limits that have no power. Water was just turned on late Thursday afternoon and we are under a boil water advisory until further notice. No school for Danville or Boyle County on Monday for sure. Boyle County high school is the last known shelter to go to in the county and they are telling people their power could be back on today or within 2 weeks. I'd be surprised if the basketball team even practiced after Tuesday. The area around Danville High School looks like a war zone and I still don't think the high school has power. I'd be surprised if more than 5 boys on that basketball team had a warm home to go to after the game was over.

I'd say the game was a welcome relief, but they weren't prepared to play.

Just curious... Were you there?

Nope. I'd have liked to have gone, but due to the circumstances, I had family that needed me here in Boyle County.

Ok well let me help you out here... It could have been 70 and sunny and it wouldn't have made a difference.

We can agree to disagree. I think, and will continue to think, that with a full week of practice and focused minds, that they would have given a better game. I didn't say they would have won, I just said I'd have liked to have seen how the game would have turned out under different circumstances. That's all.

I'm not even a NewCath fan. It just wasn't even close as far as coaching and discipline goes. NewCath got open look after open look, and didn't even really have a great game out of most of their usual suspects. Danville looked like Newport with a little less talent. They have some speed and athleticism and one decent post player who doesn't get enough touches. They force way too many shots, they don't run any type of offense, and they don't understand the concept of team defense. Unless they were going to learn all of those things in three days of practice that NCC probably didn't have either then I don't think it was going to make a difference.
