January 30, 200917 yr Thats right. Good one on Springer:clap:Yeah, "Umm...can you take a check?"
January 30, 200917 yr The politician who set himself up there was Jerry Springer. I believe that was at the Drawbridge.
January 30, 200917 yr Yeah it is definitely cheaper than any other place that I've checked on. The rooms that we'd probably get would cost about $50-60 at the TraveLodge while it'd be a little over $100 per room at some of the other places. These are college kids that I'd be hanging out with so the money will probably be tight after what everyone is wanting to do that day. They've never been to the Hofbrauhaus and we'llbe visiting there before we go stand in line. We're getting general admission floor seats so the earlier we get there the better so we can get close to the stage. After the concert, we might be hitting up some clubs. Does anyone know some of the clubs that would be 18+? Some of the people who will be coming are under 21. I'm telling you, I've been in the Travel Lodge, it is not a place to stay if you can avoid it.
January 30, 200917 yr I am not thinking staying there would be that good of an idea. I have never been in there, but going by what I see on the outside...spending a little bit more for something to feel clean in is worth it. Especially if there is a group of people, no one is going to want to sleep on that floor.
January 30, 200917 yr Taking your life and well being in hand if you stay at the Travelodge... the thought of bed bugs and other evil creatures you can not see come to my mind.. that place scares me during the day when I walk by it. I have stayed at the Comfort Suites w/ MRS Steaker, in case you are wondering Henry521, and it is very decent. The best part is the free breakfast the next moring... which I am sure the college kids will enjoy! Other than that you may want to try the Leathernecks in Ft Thomas. They reside darn close to the bus line that goes right by the levee. :ohbrother:
January 31, 200917 yr Do you remember that scene from Poltergeist where they crossed through a portal to hell? Well what you didn't see (before they fell back to earth, covered in red slime), was that they spent a few terrifying moments at the Travelodge in Newport.
January 31, 200917 yr Don't stay there. Just read the reviews people have written if you research local hotels.
January 31, 200917 yr Can anyone who has stayed there give me any feedback? A couple of my cousins and friends will be coming up to NKU for the Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, and Saving Abel concert on Feb. 23 and are thinking about getting rooms in the area so we can go to a club somewhere and then go back to the hotel to spend the night before they head back south. I was looking at a couple places to get a good handle on the prices and saw where the TravelLodge in Newport has some pretty reasonable rates. I know that sometimes you get what you pay for so I'm just trying to see what everyone thinks of this place. If they stay at Travelodge, believe me, they will see Papa Roach, and Mama Roach and all the baby roaches and....
February 1, 200917 yr I have unfortunately stayed at the Travel Lodge during a friends 21st b-day. We have found a half smoked joint on the floor. It was extremely dirty and made me generally feel dirty. Did you smoke it?
