January 30, 200917 yr Author And then you could walk from Skyline Tavern lol. MJ, you could let us use your place over at Callahan Hall and you can have mine for that night. LOL. Just kidding man. LOL
January 30, 200917 yr I would try the place across from the Party Source. I forget what it is called. I would not suggest staying at the Travel Lodge. You really do get what you pay for there. Comfort Inn. Stayed there for New Year's and it was really nice...
January 30, 200917 yr The Comfort Suites wasn't too expensive with 5 people. I think it was $129 or something total, split by 5. And that was for New Year's Eve.
January 30, 200917 yr Comfort Suites is also a longer walk than ya think from the HH, especially in the cold weather. Probably a 10 minute walk? Very short cab ride, though.
January 30, 200917 yr Had a bachelor party at the lodge back around 94... they had a party/conference room right above where you check in. Pure chaos and debauchery ensued...room was big enough for tackle football and plenty of fun with some professional ladies..I wonder if they ever got all the beer and milk stains up from the carpet? Funny thing is it went on for hours with not a single visit from the staff... the only visitors we got were from more professionals looking for work!
January 30, 200917 yr Personally, as long as the hotel is in a safe neighborhood who cares. Stay at the Travelodge, it's inexpensive and they can save their money for partying. It's only a night not a long vacation.
January 30, 200917 yr I have unfortunately stayed at the Travel Lodge during a friends 21st b-day. We have found a half smoked joint on the floor. It was extremely dirty and made me generally feel dirty.
January 30, 200917 yr Don't forget about Priceline.... The economy is bad and you can get a nice hotel fairly cheap. Last year we bid $30 on a $100 room and they took it. Just make sure you are definetely using it because once you commit, it's yours..
January 30, 200917 yr If you are looking for cheap and close your not going to beat the travelodge. If your planning on returning to the room drunk and just looking for a place to sleep for a few hours and then hit the road I would say go with the lodge just don't expect much.

Learn how to use their system before you bid:thumb:

January 30, 200917 yr I don't know, I don't think the Travel Lodge is the same Travel lodge of ole. Heck, they are sitting on prime property. It should be a Hyatt. It has to be better than the Travel lodge from the 70's and 80's .That's not what I heard from people who stayed there not too long ago.
January 30, 200917 yr Who was the politician that got set up at the T-Lodge oh so many years ago?It was George Ratterman who got set up. The politician who set himself up there was Jerry Springer.
