January 27, 200917 yr You want to get pigeon holed as a geezer bar? Have the best 1940-1960's bands and the nations best Elvis impersonators. He may male it but having this as any of your focus and the 21-34 demographic will stay away in droves. Listen I hope he makes it, right now its a waste of prime real estate. But if thats part of his plan the 40-60 demo is going tp be 95% of his business and there's a reason advertisers don't target that group...just don't see it. Didn't the Syndicate try this for a while too? Howd that go? f I think it may go better than you think, the 21-34 crowd isn't the end all crowd always needed to make a place a success. As a matter of fact, I know plenty of people that would be glad to go out where the crowd is a bit more, shall we say, "mature'.

January 27, 200917 yr There are places in Covington's Main Strasse that do quite well. Dee Felice has long ben a favorite of the over 35 age group, and so has Chez Nora's across the street. Both are successful even without an Elvis impersonator! Not every bar needs to fit the 21-35 age group. I think Guys and Dolls has a great chance for success. When it went out of business 30+ years ago, there was a lot of country side out there, that now contain subdivisions. NKU has grown tremendously which brings a lot of faculty into the area. If they do it right, they can create a fun atmosphere for a "more mature" age group. I wish him the best of luck.:thumb:
January 27, 200917 yr Old people crack me up. 98 speaks up, and you all assume that "these young kids, so cocky and so full of themselves, he doesn't know what he is talking about. This instant-gratification generation is so much worse than our generation."

January 27, 200917 yr Old people -- in other words, "anyone over 30." And btw, he doesn't. I know you all aren't old (except Run To State- he's way too grumpy for a young guy ). But I do love to see the way people view generations outside of their own. Like 98 and Clyde, I hope they are wrong. The more money to NKY, the better. I'm praying for the date that the Tri-State (NKY, SW Ohio, SE Indiana) can become it's own state. If I haven't ticked off every BGP member in some way in the post, I am disappointed in myself Edited January 27, 200917 yr by cch5432 many reasons

I don't know where you got that from my post, I didn't post anything for you to take such offense. It's a simple fact that there are a lot of people older than the 21-34 crowd that go out and pump money into places of business. They're not interested in listening to Hip Hop or Grunge or Death Metal. I've got news for you as well, cch5432, when you're a little older you'll do the same thing that you're accusing me of, even though I really wasn't doing that in this case. And, this old man can still hang with the best of them, come out some night with us and see for yourself. :ylsuper:

I'm not really offended (I'm actually joking around, as BF noticed), and I really don't know what property you're talking about (or characteristics surrounding it). Like I said, I hope you all are right.

Just trying to live up to the "old guy" persona.
