January 28, 200917 yr They're not interested in listening to Grunge or Death Metal. Wouldn't have the foggiest idea where to go to listen to these things......
January 28, 200917 yr There are places in Covington's Main Strasse that do quite well. Dee Felice has long ben a favorite of the over 35 age group, and so has Chez Nora's across the street. Both are successful even without an Elvis impersonator! Not every bar needs to fit the 21-35 age group. : IMO these 2 restaurants you mention are not valid comparisons to this new venture. First of all, the MainStrasse area is part of the attraction that you will not have on 27. Secondly, these places are 100% restaurants who are not trying to draw people for entertainment. They have survived because of their wonderful food , atmosphere, and the MainStrasse area.

First of all Main Strasse attracts older and younger people. I know a lot of people who stop by Dee Felice for a drink and listen to the music....usually after work. The entertainment at Dee Felice has been a draw for many years (though I will grant you that the food is also great). Additionally, many people my age stop by other bars down there after work. Us "older folks" like the idea of a place closer to home vs driving to Covington. Most of the people I socialize with frequent local, neighborhood places. I will admit, that it would be difficult if the owners depended on people driving more than 10 miles to make a profit. The population in Highland Heights is much larger than it was 30 years ago. I think there are definately enough local people to make it a success. I am glad someone is trying to make a go of it.

You actually gave another reason that its not a valid comparison. MainStrasse is an "area" of entertainment. You can get to multiple establishments without having to hop into your car each time. Secondly, I agree that people frequent local neighborhood places. Chuke will HAVE to get the Cold Spring/Alexandria crowd because that's the "neighborhood." We're spontaneous folk. Rarely do we decide more than 4 hours ahead of time where we're going. If its not at the forefront of your mind and local, it simply doesn't make the cut that night. Lastly, how exactly are people outside of a 5 mile radius going to know about it? How many times do you drive by that location in a week? Month? This will live or die based on the support of Alexandria and Cold Spring residents.
January 28, 200917 yr "I also plan on having some of the best Elvis performers in the United States." This tells me all I need to know.

If top quality food and entertainment are provided, the place will be an easy success.

You think people come to Vegas for the Elvis impersonators? Wayne Newton? Terrible location if you're looking for $$ out of Cincinnati, Kenton County, or Boone County.

January 28, 200917 yr He say she wants to bring acts from the 50s and 60s. So he wants to bring in people who were fans 12 to 25 40 to 50 years ago. Is there going to be a Metamucil Night?

January 28, 200917 yr You're welcome to your wrong opinion. I don't mind people stating my opinion is wrong. It just makes it better discussion if you can back it up with an opinion as to why its wrong. You think people from those places I listed are driving to 27 to see ONE of the Righteous Brothers?
January 28, 200917 yr There is a reason WGRR upgraded the play list and as a result took off in the ratings.............. I assume you mean because they now play songs from the 70s and 80s for people that are now in the 40s and 50s - not songs for people who passed the mandatory 70 1/2 age limit for IRA withdrawals.
