Doesn't the Southgate House already meet a lot of this demand? They have some pretty good music there.

That's a good point I hope Chuke thought about that. Best of luck to him.

Do they have a dance floor?

Don't know.

Sort of not a true dance floor but that doesn't stop anybody from dancing.:jump:

Don't know.

They currently do not have a dance floor. That will be part of the remodeling from what I read. The building is old and has been transformed several times over the past few years. Looking forward to how it turns out.

Clyde is dead on. Place won't last a year. I hope I'm wrong.

I would also say he's right about the NKU population I'd say 75% of those that live on campus (amd that's not even a fourth of the total enrollment of the school) are not of legal drinking age. NKU is still very much a commuter school.

What's hilarious is to think any college kids are going to want to go see any of the acts mentioned in the article.

I can't tell you how many times while I was at NKU me and my friends sat around wondering where we could go see the best Elvis impersonators in the world.

Guess I was just there 10 years too early. Oh well ;)

I don't think that's the major focus. They just said they would try to have something that would appeal to that crowd as well. They didn't mention what that might be.

I have a feeling Chuke is going to have the last laugh on you.

You know guys (and dolls), I didn't start this thread as some kind of debate. If I wanted that I'd have put it in P&R. I just posted this for informational purposes. You can take it or leave it.

You want to get pigeon holed as a geezer bar? Have the best 1940-1960's bands and the nations best Elvis impersonators.

He may male it but having this as any of your focus and the 21-34 demographic will stay away in droves.

Listen I hope he makes it, right now its a waste of prime real estate. But if thats part of his plan the 40-60 demo is going tp be 95% of his business and there's a reason advertisers don't target that group...just don't see it.

Didn't the Syndicate try this for a while too? Howd that go?

Actually, the 40-60 demo is where it's at these days. That's where the largest population base and pretty much all of the disposable income is sitting.

Like stated earlier head downtown, mainstrauss, the levee, mt.adams on any night of the week and tell me young people don't spend. I go to all these places and on a tuesday night in winter they're crowded. Older folks just don't go out like this.

I wish him well but both that model its a proven failure in this area. (Syndicate tried the exact same thing in a better location)

You're definitely showing your youth here.

Will Steve shave his head and wear a cheesey looking toupee like Ben K used to?
