Does title IX really state that? It is up to each individual coach on whether they want two or three officials. I would imagine if the boys coach wanted 3 and the girls wanted 2 or vice versa that would be fine. I know there are some boys coaches that only want two because their teams tend to be more physical off the ball and they are hoping that isn't picked up like it would be in a 3 man.:confused:

I have not seen a game this season that has even came close to not having the attendance to pay the officials like sometimes in other small sports. At $4 a head at the door, thats around 42 adults to pay for refs.

What if the ball is being shot when the block/charge (blarge) happens but it does not go in? As there is no team control or player control on a shot you have to go to possession arrow. If player driving to hoop has ball when blarge happens it is POI, or the offensive team keeps it. Both fouls are reported. It sucks when this happens but it does happen on both three and two man crews.

In the 8th region it is $75 each for a 2 person varsity game and $65 each for a 3 person game...so, $150 vs. $195...an increase of 23%...well worth the difference!

 

FYI...all regular season district games are 3 person crews in the 8th Region...

It just seems to me that with having to watch (and listen to, in some cases) 10 players, coaches, the ball, boundary lines, the clock, etc.; that 3-man crews should be the norm. Especially in light of the athleticism and physicality that is part of today's game.

LBBC, are you saying that this, for lack of a better term, "officials' equity" already exists?

 

Or that if 3-person crews are mandated on the boys' side, that the same would have to happen on the girls' side as well?
