Texas Team "Ashamed" With 100-0 Victory

This is flat out sad that a team and fans would act like this. Old saying what goes around comes back around.

Hey maybe they were just playing good full or half court man to man and not pressing. Just kidding that line was in response to the thread on here over the Rowan v. Russell game.:idunno::confused:

They had the coach, players, and reporter on Good Morning America this morning. The reporter said he had over 700,000 hits on his blog when he first reported this story, even New Zealand and China. Of course they offered the other school a chance to come on and give their side of the story but they declined. No surprise there! They showed the players practicing and granted they were not good, it looked like 3rd and 4th graders trapped in high schoolers bodies as far as skill level, but every girl seemed to be taking it in context and were not emtionally scarred. The other school didn't offer the apology and the forfeit until 9 days after the game was played and reported on by the reporter. Mark Cuban has invited the entire team to attend a Dallas Mavericks game in the owners box.

I've come to the conclusion that Mark Cuban is a heck of a guy. :thumb:

I think he is a good guy as well, just don't like people telling what to do or what he can't do!

I am not discussing the fact that the players need to play hard and give 100%, but it was a classless act on the fans part and the coaches part. Cheering for 100 points against a basically defensless team is just down right classless.

And thats not a bad thing in his case!:thumb:

If I had his $$$, I would do what I wanted to do as well, but probably won't ever have that problem!:D

I always say the hardest part about being Christian "is being Christian" 100-0 is living proof of that.

THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!

The story I saw on tv said that the coach left his starters in until the 4th quarter. Anyone else see or hear that?

I've read quite a bit about the game. Apparently the starters stayed in until mid-fourth. But the worst thing about it was that the winning team didn't call off their full-court press until they reached 100 points.

I have NO PROBLEM with Team A beating Team B by a million points - even if I'm coaching Team B. I have a BIG problem with coaches - who are role models whether they want to be or not - providing this kind of example. There are many, many ways you can slow down the carnage in a game like this without telling your team to quit shooting or trying to execute. Quit running. Empty the bench. Play different positions. Require 10 passes before a shot is taken. Lots of ways to keep playing, keep trying hard - yet allow the other team to retain a little dignity.

Employing a press until you can crack triple digits against a practically defenseless opponent is absurd. There is no way to defend it. :puke:

Kudos Mike!!! Take this one back to the thread on qaulities you want in a coach ...

I just read where the coach has been fired.
