Qryche11 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Lets hear the predictions on this one. The Birds beat the Colonels a few weeks ago on their own floor 51-44 but the Birds were not playing well at all. They have won 9 of last 10 and the Colonels are also playing some good basketball. I expect this one to be close again but the Birds depth will wear out the young Colonels. HHS 63 DH 50
Eta Rho Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Dixie has been playing well lately but I don't see Highlands having another lackluster performance against the Colonels. Highlands by 10+. Highlands 59 Dixie 47
Eta Rho Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Is this game @ Dixie? Start time? Not sure if it's at Dixie or not, but start time is 8:15.
Qryche11 Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Someone in the Kenton Co. Classic thread mentioned that it was at SK 8:15 on Sat night. Stay tuned.

I expect this one to be close again but the Birds depth will wear out the young Colonels. HHS 63 DH 50 Highlands shot lights out in the first half against Dixie the first time they played. Everything seemed to be going in. They did, however, lose a big lead and let the Colonels come back within 10. My prediction is that Dixie wins, by 2, back to back championships at the Kenton Co Classic. Somebody has to root for the "underdog", and it seems that Dixie has played strong in games that they are suppose to lose over the past two weeks. Game is 8:15 on Saturday at Dixie too, to give the Colonels a home-court advantage.
Dawg81 Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Like to see the Colonels and my boy Brandon do good, Dixie by 2 :thumb:
Guest Birdflu Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I will pick Highlands, although they are very inconsistent. It seems like they lose to schools that are smaller than themselves (excluding Madison Central). That's why I am picking Highlands. Very scientific.
remmac Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I like the Birds to take this one but am impressed with the Dixie's recent play. They have a nice squad and have been getting some big play from their youngsters of late. Pompilio is a nice player and scored well in the first meeting. I will have to diagree that HHS is inconsistent, granted the loss to Beechwood notwithstanding (w/o Grubbs in OT on the road), perched at 14-4after winning 9 of 10 isn't inconsistent. Birds by 11.
katbird Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Birds by 12.. I watched Dixie last night and wasn't that impressed with them. They are young and don't shoot the ball from the outside very well.
