LCPATS Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Per Jody Demling... Finch has committed to Boston College.
Wireman Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Well, that's disappointing. What does he see at BC that he likes better than UK?
LCPATS Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 Well, that's disappointing. What does he see at BC that he likes better than UK? I thought he could come in and contribute pretty quickly at UK...
THUNDERBIRDS Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Justin Burke anybody!!!! He will be back in Louisville in 3 years.
Wireman Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I thought he could come in and contribute pretty quickly at UK... With the status of Locke in question, he could have contributed really soon.
TheDeuce Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Well, that's disappointing. What does he see at BC that he likes better than UK? Academics?
Wireman Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Academics? Nah, I think UK is a good enough academic school.
ColonelCrazy Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Academics? Possibly, but I doubt it. Call me cynical, but if it was about academics then this decision would have been made a long time ago. FWIW, I don't think it's really fair to question a kid's decision as to where he wants to attend college. Boston College is a great school and a pretty solid football program. Good luck to Mr. Finch.
ColonelCrazy Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Nah, I think UK is a good enough academic school. Maybe he just didn't want to go to UK? Comments like the two that you've made thus far in this thread are what give Kentucky fans (or any school's fans) a bad rap. Wish the kid luck and move on...
BaseballIsLife Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Wasn't Finch offered by Stanford? If he was and it was really about Academics, then he would obviously be going there. I'm a little disappointed that he didn't commit to UK but I wish him well at Boston College and hope he puts together a great college career there.
strongopenyon Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Good luck to Deuce Finch. I do realize these are young 17-19 year old kids, but in my honest opinion, Deuce Finch is not an SEC caliber running back. I am in no way saying he is not capable of playing in the SEC, but rather, he is not a outstanding running back prospect. He has had too many lower body injuries in high school to hold up at that position in college, especially in the SEC. I honestly hope the kid proves me wrong if he is set on playing running back at Boston College. Good luck and congratulations to Deuce Finch.

I'm sorry, but I just don't see anything wrong with my comments in this thread. Since you do, I'd like to hear exactly which comments you are referring to and why they bother you? I'm not saying that to argue, I really do want to know what's wrong with my comments.
letabrotherspeak Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 I never got the impression from things that I read that the kid was enamored at all about staying close to home.
