January 19, 200917 yr Author Go to the gym and get a nice run and it you will wake up tomorrow feeling so much better. That's another reason I'm quitting. I want to get back in shape and I just can't if I smoke a pack a day.
January 19, 200917 yr That's another reason I'm quitting. I want to get back in shape and I just can't if I smoke a pack a day. Ok my dip idea sounds even better, do pouches if you need to. Stick it in, get that nicotine fix, and then get rid of it. Only kept dipping after I started was because it doesn't slow you down as far as sports or working out.

January 19, 200917 yr Skoal Wintergreen pouch in right now. How much do you chew a day SF ? I don't, I do actaul dip, not pouches, but it got to the point where I physically can't tolerate it unless I'm drinking. The craving is there when I drink, but that's the only time.
January 19, 200917 yr Author Still holding strong. 11 hours and no cigarettes :dancingpa Day 1 hasn't been as unpleasant as I thought it would be. This is the first time in close to 7 years that I have gone this long without one 1 single cigarette.
January 19, 200917 yr ^ You must not have driven anywhere. I find that one of the harder times not to smoke.
January 19, 200917 yr Author ^ You must not have driven anywhere. I find that one of the harder times not to smoke. Nope. Didn't leave my house. That's also a weak spot for me. I enjoy smoking while driving, as soon as I wake up and after a meal. Those will be the hardest. I go back to school tomorrow so I'm sure that will make it a little more tough. Those in between class smokes are great.
January 20, 200917 yr Author My advice -don't play cards for a while. No cards but I did just get back in from throwing some darts. I must admit, I had a cigar with a few buddies while throwing. Still 0 cigarettes for day one. Tomorrow will be a little more challenging but I don't plan on buying a pack in the morning so if I want one, I'm just out of luck. Thanks for all the support guys !
January 20, 200917 yr Hang in there MBWC. I'm sure it's very hard - but well worth the effort. Good luck.
January 20, 200917 yr Today is the day I decided to make some progress with my New Years resolution to quit smoking. I have been down from a pack a day to around 5 cigarettes a day since New Years. Today I decided to see if I'm able to just quit cold turkey. I woke up at 7:30 this morning and haven't had one yet. That may not sounds that difficult to some of you, but for me, the early morning cigarette is by far the hardest to give up. I threw away the pack I had last night, I wanted to make sure that I didn't have any to tempt me today. This combined with the diet I'm on has me shaky and mad at the world right now :madman: Be strong, brother. It does get easier as it goes along. March will mark five years for me since I quit. Get through the first week and its gets easier. At least for me it did. :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb: The fourth day was the worst for me, mostly because I was in the car all day long, and that was almost an automatic for me to light one up as soon as I would get in the car. Toothpicks seemed to help a lot.
