Read the thread about the Nazi named children being removed from their home. An article on-line this moring said that the local agency had no bad reports on the family. So were they remove for political correctness? Next they come for your guns. Then they arrest you for reading the wrong book or watching the wrong TV show. They will be able to this because society has lost its abilitity to stop an abusive government.

We all have noticed how quick some in our government are to smirk at the NRA, BUT did you know that most every Firearms Instructor in every department that falls under the DOJ requires their instructors to be NRA certified. Also most states require concealed carry holders be certified through an NRA instructor.

 

It hasn't been to many years ago that gun safety instruction was available in our schools through our state conservation officers. Even the mention of "GUN" in a school now is not politically correct.

We currently have over 22000 (TWENTY TWO THOUSAND) gun laws on the books , I would love to see them use these laws against All illegal activity. We really do not need any more gun laws.

Again, guns have been regulated to the hilt, it's getting tiresome. The only people these idiotic laws effect are people that don't break the law to begin with.

Your answer is immaterial to the question I asked. I asked specifically how would registration lead to confiscation.

Ask that question of citizens of those countries that had to register first, then had their gun confiscated.

How in the world does owing a gun and not having to give a fingerprint solve the issue?

 

I get so tired of the "look at what society has become" excuse. Fix the problem, don't add to it. Moral values can be changed. But it takes more than the lamenting of the lack thereof.

 

God hasn't been removed from the forefront. But, many people choose to not put God in the forefront. As much as I wholeheartedly believe in the value of the Catholic Education for my kids, even if they'd gone to public school, God would have been in the forefront. Don't blame the government for removing God.

I really don't know why they haven't thought of this one : just create a new law that requires anyone that has used a firearm in commission of a crime , or intends to use a firearm in any illegal manner to turn in their firearm ASAP ! Or at least , have them come in for finger printing so they can be properly dealt with after they commit a crime ! Oh yea, finger print anyone that purchases duct tape for illegal purposes too !:rolleyes:

My comment isn't about "gun problems". My comment is about the excuse that guns are NEEDED because "society is debased, degraded and degenerating, godless, etc". That doesn't get solved by having guns. It doesn't get worse because you have your name in a database if you do own a gun. I am continually amazed at the "solution" that a gun is supposed to be....in reality, it's no solution at all.

Pro-gun control is NOT Anti-gun. It's just a convenient lable to apply to those who feel that there are changes that should take place. Again, it's like during the campaign...our opinions don't jive, so call me a "bad" name to justify it.

The bill sounds reasonable to me, too.
