What in the sports world gives you the idea that Coach Hampton is the best coach in the 16th?

Is Jim Hicks Coach Billy Hick's nephew? Jim Bob?

 

I think that's a different Jim Hicks. I believe he's at Bath County in the 16th Region.

What about Mike Reitz? Hard to argue with a man that has 500 wins.

Billy Hicks how can you argue with over 700 wins. This is my first choice.

 

Second would be Champ Ligon at Bryan Station he just get his kids to play hard.

 

This i agree with, it's hard to argue with Billy Hicks numbers. Then, Champ Ligon is a great coach for what hes done at Bryan Station and for the teams he put together at Shelby County. What a mistake they made letting this guy go.

Humphries of GRC..

Probably Jones. Cawood beat Harlan something like nine of 11 from 84 to 86 when Jones was at Cawood and Hicks was at Harlan. I think they were probably pretty even when Hicks was at Corbin and Jones was at Harlan. Hicks would have won in the years Jones was at Jackson County, but they didn't play very often, if at all.

Obviously Hicks has the top program in the state now at Scott County, but they don't play many 13th Region teams.

I seem to remember Pietrowski hitting a buzzer beater to beat a Harlan team led by Charles Thomas on TV.

Tony's team beat Harlan during his senior season. Hicks was coach at Corbin and Jones was coach at Harlan.

Brad Carr's a great coach. Scott's in a tough district and a tough region!

 

 

Going through this thread, I was wondering when his name would come up. He would be my choice.

Jones' teams owned Deaton when he was at Corbin. I think Harlan beat Hicks and the Hounds on the way to the regional title in 1993. I'm not sure about the other games. They've played the last game of the year every year since at least the 1970s, but I'm too lazy to look them all up right now. Les sounds pretty sure about 1994, and I think that was Hicks' last year in Corbin.

 

I do remember Hicks and Corbin upsetting Cawood in a televised game in 1987 (Jones' last year at Cawood and Hicks' first at Corbin).

I would say Scott Humphrey or maybe Billie Hicks, you have to throw in Foust also from St. Henry.
