NEERFAN
Doesn't this win give Grant County the #1 seed in the 32nd district? Not yet, still a few games left for the seedings to be set. Here are the current standings. Grant Co; (3-1) with WV/Wtown (H) and SK (A) WV; (2-2) Wtown and GC (A) SK; (2-2) Wtown (A) and Grant (H) Grant seems to be in the drivers seat but you never know. Sublime
I don't think any of the four teams in this district has a breeze to get to regionals. Grant only beat WV by 4 points, and it definitely could have gone the other way. WV threw the ball away at least 5 times down the stretch with really no pressure. I think if not for that, they would have won this game.
Clyde
Why would they schedule district games on back-to-back nights?

The only turnover I saw down the stretch was when Ponzer dribbled off the back of his foot with a minute left and he was definitely being pressured. I don't know what game you were watching. IMO, Grant was in control the entire game, even when Walton made their run and took the lead, Grant turned back up the pressure and took care of business. PreachinToTheChoir
Looks like a breeze to the regionals for the Braves. Great win. No team will have a breeze to regionals. Every game has been close and can't wait to see what happens at districts. :dancingpa

I felt like the Braves played to their competition. They should have won this game by way more than 4. They had WV outsized and really did not take advantage of it. Davis touched the ball twice in the 2nd half after leading the braves in scoring in the first half. Too many threes and when having the lead the braves seem to play like they were down 10 and not showing patience. It is a great win when you win in district weather it is by 4 or 40 but the braves need to realize that WV 24 hours before played a big district game and won against last years district champs then played Grant to a 4 point loss. I was very impressed with Ponzer and Sullivan, it looked like their legs were gone in the 4th. They did not get the lift on their shots like they did earlier in the game. I heard the student section say the district is ours, I would only warn the good braves team that you have to play these teams again and then play @ WIlliamstown in the district tournament, which is a hard enough place to play in regular season let alone in the tournament. I challange the braves to work harder than they have already to make certain that the district and region can be yours. Very proud of the braves this year living up to their coaches expectations so far and encourage them to keep it up, it has been fun so far. Grant is definitely in the drivers seat going into districts, but don't think they will breeze through. Ponzer did dribble one off his foot, but it wasn't like he was under alot of pressure. IMO, Grant got all they could handle. It should be fun at districts this year. Good luck to all the boys. They are making it fun for us spectators this year. Just glad I don't have a kid on any of the teams. I think it would be much too nerve racking. I really think Williamstown could be a wild card even though their record isn't great. They really play hard till the last second. And their coach is doing a good job keeping them focused in spite of their record. Good luck to all.:dancingpa

Like Braves1 said, Grant played to the level of their competitors. Grant didn't play as hard as they should of, and that is the reason WV stayed in the game. When it came down to it, Grant finished business and got a win on the road. NICE WIN:ylsuper:

I don't know what game you were watching either! It was a close game that could have gone either way. Walton-Verona had a four point lead with about 3 1/2 mintues to go and made some critical turnovers and missed some important free throws.
