Deming 61 St Patrick 58

I'm curious Butterfly about what you think the outcome would be if these coaches did switch.??

Am curious too, since Deming has won both times against St.Patrick this season. Would them switching mean that Deming would win by more if Hinson was their coach or less? If your going by the experience of both coaches with the talent that is around them, don't forget Hinson had a talented and experienced group last season and couldn't win the All A. Could Johnson have coached up that group any better or worse?

Finally some defense was played. I think 4 0f 5 of the starters had 4 fouls but at least they played "D". As for the better coach, everyone knows the answer to that one.

What was up with the coaches arguing with each other after the game, until someone separated them!

Gawd!!! I surely hope that they shook hands.

I'd hate for that to be dragged out of the closet for the next five years! :fire:

In all seriousness, Coach Hinson has to be very frustrated, having lost several close games this season, and often tempers will flare in the heat of battle.

I'm sure that these two will be on the phone with each other in the morning working it out, and arranging to exchange tapes - lol!

Actually the stall ball would have lasted longer than Andy Clark allowed it to happen in the first half. 4:40 left on the clock before the half and the clock ran all the way down to the 2:20 mark and someone yelled GO but it came from the stands and Clark was about 25 feet out and let the ball fly(not that he hasn't hit it before from that range) but according to Coach Hinson, he wanted to melt it down to about 5 seconds left to get the shot. Coach Hinson had 3 players with 2 fouls, all 3 starters and with Thompson out he was limited. In my opinion, Coach Hinson has tons of energy on the sidelines and all he tries to do is get his players to feed off that energy.

I think the two coaches will be fine with one another, frustration set in on the official scorebook that took a point away from Stephen Mason. Actually on the 15-4 run that St. Pat put together late in the 4th, the game is tied at 50 instead of Deming being ahead by 1 at 50-49. The outcome is still 2 points instead of 1 so the scorebook issue is over. Give it to Kyle King for knocking down 8 out of 10 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

This is what proably the whole discussion between the 2 coaches was about the point being took away from St. Pat and the frustration that Caoch Hinson felt trying to get his team to a level they should be at both Coaches are professional and they will work things out.

As for the scorekeeper whether she was a fault or not may or may not affect the outcome of the ball game we all make mistakes, who among us haven't may cast the first stone. Fine game by both teams.

I remember two straight years when St. Pat was by far the better team and lost to Augusta in the District. Deming by far the better team and gets by Nicholas County in the District. Deming has three straight trips to the Region. So answer this question who has won the big games?

Exactly and it is not Coach Hinson, though both he and Johnson are good young coaches who have a lot of games ahead of them

Well we wont ever get to see it, but I think Deming with Hinson at the helm would win alot more games than they have. Thats just my opinion.

She should be paying attention to the game. I mean, how can you miss a free throw?

I don't know - the team I follow did it 13 times in 16 tries in a game a couple of weeks ago.mad0228.gif

Oh - I get it. never mind...

I tend to agree with you about this Butterfly. I think Hinson is the better coach of the 2 and since he was never head coach at Deming, you can't compare the records. He was assistant under Aaron Massey. As for the altercation between the 2, there were numerous people standing around videotaping it with their cell phones. It wouldn't suprise me if it doesn't end up on youtube in a few days.

Would think the coach, players, fans, etc. would have picked up on that as soon as it happened also

The Saints played without Thompson which limited them. I know that the Devils were without Schalch as well. But as I look back on it, both teams had everyone available in the 1st meeting and Deming won by 4 at St. Pat. I believe Hinson could get more out of the boys from Mt. Olivet than what Johnson gets out of them.

I think that there both great young coaches and will be a treat to watch them in the !0th region for years to come.

One thing for sure both teams have a rivalry that growing every game even thoguh we are in seperate districts, you feel it at the games. I think if Coach Hinson stayed at Deming before he took the St.Pat job he may have well been the Coach at Deming. But I don't blame him for jumping at the chance to take over at St.Pat it was an oppertunity to coach at the time.
