Sometimes the tomatoes would not be able to get processed, they sat outside in trucks and festered. Nasty. I once took a tour of a chicken processing plant (Perdue, Salisbury MD I believe). There was an area where the chickens got run through some kind of oven so their feathers would get burned off. That had quite the aroma.

January 8, 200917 yr The smell about 1 mile oustside of Vevey,IN. I smell it driving through there every night I go to the YMCA. It's a mix between an old fart and burnt rubber.

January 8, 200917 yr The smell of a swamp in humid weather. A paper mill - the smell of the whiskey brewing (or whatever it is brewing) in Cincinnati at exit 9 on 1-75 in the summer.
January 8, 200917 yr There's a small mill a few miles west of Maysville, but the smell is pretty tolerable. Relatively tame, actually.
