Pressure Treated Lumber

Cigarette Smoke

Sauerkraut

Cod Liver Oil

When I was young my dad used to occasionally cook pickled pigs feet on a Saturday afternoon. He was guaranteed an empty house on those days!

There used to be a tomato canning factory in the town where my grandparents lived when I was young. Sometimes the tomatoes would not be able to get processed, they sat outside in trucks and festered. Nasty.

 

I once took a tour of a chicken processing plant (Perdue, Salisbury MD I believe). There was an area where the chickens got run through some kind of oven so their feathers would get burned off. That had quite the aroma.

Something tells me this "aroma" isn't very similar to the Colonels secret blend of herbs and spices....

^The reason that Chillicothe, OH stinks is its paper mill. It is not something that you want to live downwind from. It is also not something that you want to drive by if you are already prone to car sickness.:eek:

The smell about 1 mile oustside of Vevey,IN.

I smell it driving through there every night I go to the YMCA.

It's a mix between an old fart and burnt rubber.

The smell of a swamp in humid weather. A paper mill - the smell of the whiskey brewing (or whatever it is brewing) in Cincinnati at exit 9 on 1-75 in the summer.

There's a small mill a few miles west of Maysville, but the smell is pretty tolerable. Relatively tame, actually.
