Not his fault the NFL has stupid overtime rules. No doubt in my mind if he gets the ball first the Colts score.

The fact is, QBs are judged based on their postseason success, and Peyton hasn't had a whole lot of it.

He does have a superbowl.

Some great Qb's don't have Rings. :thumb:

Blaming it on the rules doesn't mask the fact that he has been relatively unsuccessful when it comes to postseason play. They've been to the playoffs something like 10 straight years and have only made the SB 1 time. That's not a very good track record IMO.

He has one ring. You really want me to list all the QBs that have 1 ring? In order for me to consider him one of the best ever he needs to get another ring. Tons of good QBs have a ring, when you start talking about multiple rings is when you start narrowing the list.

Let's hear it. :D

Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson also have a Superbowl win.

If he converts a 3rd and 2, he doesn't have to worry about the defense choking.

The Atlanta Braves comparison is fair, for now. Your post-season legacy is always going to be a factor in your legacy. Yes, he has to be listed as one of the all-time greats but he's not at the top of that list. He does have some years left, so if he pulls an Elway and wins two more late in his career, then he could be very near the top.

I think that is a very fair comparison.

I'm not touching this one with a 10 foot pole.

Football is the ultimate TEAM game! No doubt the QB in the NFL is the most valuable piece but I don't buy the 1 ring or the Atl Braves etc. That sounds good on the surface but he has absolutly nothing to do with their defense over the years. The Colts got hot for about 4 games one season and what happned...... THEY WON THE SUPER BOWL!!! Give him Brayd's defense or Big Ben's defense and I would bet my house he has more than one ring. It's easy to look at the surface but if you take the time to think about it those aren't very good arguments IMO. Without him this year they might have been 500.

All of that goes into his legacy. Dan Marino was one of the best passers of all-time. You can mention his receivers, lack of running backs, defense, etc. but PART of his legacy is that he never won a Super Bowl.

He won a Superbowl, he's in good shape. Next.

Peyton's legacy? The Manning Face...
