P. Manning's Legacy

Is Peyton Manning getting a pass on his post-season performance? I think I heard that 6 times he and the Colts have lost their first playoff game. Does his SB win earn him a pass?

Just another bash Peyton thread. The Colts have no special teams, no running game and can't stop the run. Anyone who knows anything about the sport of football can see this. As much as you Peyton haters hate this he will go down as one of the best Qbs of all-time.

Don't be so sensitive. I'm a big PM fan but I think its absolutely a fair question. In the clutch of the SD game, he led the offense to 38 yards in 20 plays. They lost.

If we measure qbs by post-season wins, does PM measure up?

Peyont played very well the other night.

Peyont played very well the other night.

There were 2 or 3 balls that could have/should have been picked. He threw a TD pass when SD's defense wasn't ready. He didn't move the offense late.

Right or wrong?

Peyton carried the Colts. He was the MVP of the league! They couldn't run the ball or stop the run end of story. He is one of the best to ever play!

He is one of the greats, but when I think of the most clutch playoff performers he isn't on the list. He is a great regular season performer and clutch in the regular season. He has been suspect in the playoffs, even in the Superbowl year.

He is still one of the greatest ever.

He had 1-2 balls that could've been picked. But they have no running game...He played great IMO....Keep in mind, that play that caught San Diego off guard, was strictly due to Peyton being savvy.

While he may have played well he's supposed to be a great. He's a great regular season QB who wilts in the post season except for one year when their defense looked like the 85 Bears.

The Atlanta Braves of the NFL.

Perfect comparison. They've won at least 12 games how many times?

Not his fault the NFL has stupid overtime rules. No doubt in my mind if he gets the ball first the Colts score.

His lone touchdown came on a broken play when the entire Chargers defense wasn't ready. Sure, it was smart of Peyton, but when the game mattered he could not get field position changed and allowed the Chargers to have a short field late in the game. 17 points against the Chargers is not going to win many games.

Is he getting a pass this playoff season because Tom Brady is not in the playoffs? Most like to compare them to one another.

The fact is, QBs are judged based on their postseason success, and Peyton hasn't had a whole lot of it.
