Am I happy the kid died? Of course not. It was no shock, however, that drugs were behind the death. When you hear "Rapper X's 20 year old son found dead after night out with friends" I think the natural reaction is exactly what the Mayor posted.

 

That whole genre of "music" has cultivated a culture that screams drugs, guns, thugs and crime to the rest of the world. I think its natural to make that link when one of their own dies unexplained.

:thumb: Absolutely! Drug dealers should never be put back out on the street. Too many (and one is too many) get a slap on the wrist, then prohbation. They laugh at that, it means nothing to them. .

Just a sad story and another useless death due to drugs ands the people that use them and sell them. Young people (anyone for that matter) just refuse to realize that if you play with that crap long enough there is only one ending.

I understand where your coming from, but I just can't agree. Some 18 year old who wants quick cash and decides to sell some weed should certainly get in trouble and pay the consequences, but I wouldn't write them off immediately as being a permanent burden, incapable of going down a more righteous path.

Some 18 year old who wants quick cash and decides to sell some weed should certainly get in trouble and pay the consequences, but I wouldn't write them off immediately as being a permanent burden, incapable of going down a more righteous path.

Our prisons are already over populated. Without parole and probation, it would be nearly impossible to house all criminals. I think each case of murder or drugs is different. Child molesters I have zero sympathy for. But it is impossible to throw all murderers, drug dealers and child molesters away for life.

Then make room imo.

Reason being, I believe that if you would start doing that then that may just send out a strong message to these thugs and wannabe thugs that they will be going down to the big house to meet "Big Bubba:sssh:" and not coming back out. Then imo you would see a rapid decline when they realize that the law/courts are getting serious and mean what they say. JMO.

I respect your opinion but I just don't think so. Not enough Prison's? Build more. Like I said, once these thugs are being put away and they know that the law and courts mean it then imo you would see a sharp decline in the trash. One problem imo is that these thugs are not afraid of the punishment they would recieve as it is now. They are out before the in is dry on the paperwork.

I do most certainly agree with you on zero sympathy for child molesters and the like, imo don't waste a day in taking up room in a prison cell on them ....send them to an express lane death row immediately!
