January 2, 200917 yr Just got back from Beale Street, Having been to the Outback Bowl and multiple Music City Bowls, I was shocked to see how outnumbered UK fans were. Hopefully, fans were in the hotel rooms or on there way down to Memphis tonight. Will Big Blue Nation be at Liberty Bowl Stadium tomorrow?

Why would that change this year?
January 2, 200917 yr Author Most definitely. They have been every other year. Why would that change this year? They definitely weren't out tonight. Hopefully, they will be there tomorrow. Edited January 2, 200917 yr by Ol'Coach grammar
January 2, 200917 yr I'm in Memphis as well, went to BW-3's and didn't see a single UK fan other than my family in the place. i guess we'll see this afternoon.
January 2, 200917 yr I've been to the Outback, Music City but just am not big for a couple of reasons on this trip. I followed them to Knoxville + between it + Vandy back to back I don't know if I can handle being at the game the way the offense played those two games! I'm not crazy about Memphis for the drive I'd have to make almost 8 hrs or so. Figured it would be freezing to go watch East Carolina quite the dropoff from Fla, Geo etc. I thought a lot about going but friends weren't real excited and neither was wife. I was pretty neutral leaning towards going to Lex and watching it instead. The day after New Years might hurt some too. I'll be part of the Nation that is in Lexington (made that drive instead only 2 hours). Best of luck. I heard they cleaned Memphis up around Beal Street. I would have liked to have seen that and the Peacock Hotel. I also thought it might have been fun to stay in Tunica then head over. That might be where some fans are.
January 2, 200917 yr The last ticket sale numbers I have heard from the university was around 9000 sold. That was earlier in the week. Nothing like the Outback Bowl or the three Music City Bowl ticket numbers.
January 2, 200917 yr Most fans including myself are going to stay away from Memphis do to the fact that this place is high in crime and not a very safe place to be. With the stadium at the old fairgrounds your car could be there when you go to the game but when you return it could be gone. You wont see the turnout like you would if they would have gone to the Music City Bowl, espically since it always falls on New Years Eve. Theres nothing better than watching your team in a nice bowl game and having the oppurtunity to go out in a town like Nashville. This is all just my opinion.
January 2, 200917 yr If I had tickets I would have definitely been out on Beale Street with ya, that is one of my favorite places to go. I love Silkey O'Sullivans.
January 2, 200917 yr I do not know a whole lot of people going down. For those who are going, though, they were leaving yesterday.
January 3, 200917 yr Economy Opponent Location Boring UK team* *To some, not all. I think they said 53,000 were in attendance and it held 64,000 and the majority was blue, they figured people drove down the day of.
