Don't believe for a minute that refs, even if they called for South, could make a difference in the outcome of this 18 point spread. Corbin was clearly the better team.

 

St. John had 27?, but otherwise South didn't have enough athletes to stop Corbin tonight. Later on the tide may change but tonight belonged to Corbin, don't try to take that from these young men.

Very surprised by the outcome. I thought south would have made this a better game.

Very nice win as a matter of fact. The attendance was very good considering the unexpected change of date. The Hounds played great.

 

If you wanted to see who officiated you should've come to the game yourself but if I remember correctly, you didn't want to make the trip. Corbin won fair and square. In fact we had more fouls called on us than South Laurel did---it was a hard played game.

 

Don't know what happened in the Knox/Bell game but to imply that the loss is because of the refs is ridiculous. However, it is pretty much par for the course when it comes to disgruntled Bell fans. Bell and Knox are both very good teams that will have great seasons, perhaps the best team just won tonight. Not so far out of the realm of possibility. Happy New Year.

 

I was just curious as to who called it? Had a few Techinicals assesed and wondered who did that. It is very un-South like to be T'ed up in a game?

 

I will say again Corbin has the best talent in the Region and it appears they are coming together as a team now. It will take a very good effort by anyone to beat them.

Wow Corbin must have played well tonight. I knew that Corbin would play well just thought that SL would have played tonight also. I don't think that St John will carry SL by himself this season if other's don't rise up.

Who officiated the SL/Corbin and Bell/KC game? I talked to an offical who was a spectator at the Bell/KC game and he said that Bell got ripped on a block/charge call at the end of the game?

The officials were the guy who resembles Coach K, Kelly from M'boro and I'm not really familiar with the other one. They did a good job and allowed the kids to play, although Johnson from Corbin had 2 debatable fouls called on him early that caused him to miss all of the 2nd quarter and part of the first.

The T on St John was for slapping the backboard and the one on Wright came when St John tried to fake a charge, a no-call would probably have been the right call, but it was obviously not a charge and I guess when he fell down it appeared like there was contact when there was very little since Crawford went around him.

 

I did not see the Bell/KC game, not sure who did it.

If Corbin is able to get a couple of other players from its bench to give consistent play, they will be much more difficult to beat. In order to win at RUPP, you will have to go 8 or 9 deep.

I picked Corbin to win by 18 during the first meeting, so can I get some credit for that - JK.

Sounds to me like Corbin came to play and make a statement. Good win for the Hounds. I expect to see them in March at Rupp Arena.

Attendance wasn't bad for New Year's Eve. Bell didn't get ripped off. They cooked their own goose. Poor shot selection in the final minutes. As far as the the block/charge call - it was a dumb foul either way. The KC player had just crossed half-court.

I am so tired of hearing about the refs. Corbin won the game fair and square. They played a better game. PERIOD!!!
