Championship Game Gateway Holiday Classic @ Montgomery County

I'm told this was a 6 point game with 2 minutes left, and Anderson twice had the ball with a chance to cut it under 6...

Game was much closer than score indicates. Anderson's defense and size gave Scott some problems. I think it was 51-46 with 3:00 left Scott shot a 3 and Anderson didn't get the rebound Scott kicked it out shot another 3 and Jackson tipped it in.

Good win for SC but they still have some work to do. Teams who have had size and play good defense have seemed to bother SC this year. A W is a W though.

Do teams with size and play good defense bother other teams as well? Or only Scott Co.?

I read on another board that Anderson really slowed the game down and Scott could never get the pace as fast as they like it.

I watched the first half of the Anderson VS. Montgomery the night before and was very suprised to see Anderson in this ballgame in the 4th quarter.

 

And Im not so sure that Anderson was as big or as athletic as Scott Co.. So as far as them struggling against these type of teams, I agree but Im not so sure that is why they struggled against Anderson Co.

 

Does anybody know if Anderson played alot of zone? Scott Co. has had problems attacking the zone.

Anderson is a disciplined team. They are good passers and ball handlers so Scott Co's traps didn't force many turnovers for most of the game.

Scott Co. got a lot of offensive rebounds throughout the game.

Good atmosphere and a MUCH better game than most thought.

I saw something out of Euton that surprised me. He was playing "up in your face" defense out on the floor during picks in which he was switching. At times he was playing defense on point guards and doing a decent job. Not an Euton fan but left impressed with him.

It was a good game because Anderson Co. was an 8th Region rival with Scott Co. back in the day. Another thing ... great show of class by Anderson County coach at the end of the game by not shaking the Scott Co. players hands. You should be proud buddy.

Andersons coach was first through line. He shook several players hands right in front of me. I did not count exactly how many but it did catch my attention because he was first instead of like most coaches of being the last.
