Guess were 2nd guessing Clark as one of the top teams in state now?

 

They aren't one of the top teams in the state at this point but they will be better as the season progresses.

GRC won't win the state crown this year.

I believe GRC would beat Mason by single digits in a close game if they played tomorrow. If they played in March in NKY Bank of KY Center which they may I like GRC by double digits. By March these sophomores will be closer to juniors and playing like a Top 10 team.

Since my questioned didnt get answered in the updates thread, Ill ask again. Did Cory Rogers (sp?) transfer to GRC or has he played there his entire high school career? He is a good player and was tough for SC to stop.

I agree whole heartedly.[imo] You have to wait until March for GRC, the jury is still out on them. And I don't think you can use this young teams play tonight to measure what type team they will be at the end. I still think they will win the 10th. And SC beat Ballard the same way and some people have Ballard in the top 10. I think tonight they caugt SC at the wrong time.

Mason Co would have to play AMAZING to beat Scott Co I just hope we can keep it with in 10 points, but I was saying I don't think Clark Co is heads above Mason Co.

Tough loss for the GRC Cards. I really thought they'd be able to keep this one close and possibly win but I guess SC was just too much tonight. I said it before and I'll say it again...stop Phares and get him on the bench with foul trouble and SC is very vulnerable. Holmes did it and it worked well for them...leave him in the game and he will dominate. Sounds like he did with a double double tonight.

If Mason Co. plays defense the way we know they can they can beat GRC if they don't learn to handle the pressure any better than they did tonight. And if they meet on a neutral floor in March anything can happen. But come March, I am sure GRC will be better handling the pressure defense than what was displayed tonight. Will make for good conversation and some excellent basketball throughout this season.

Right now, I wouldn't say they are heads above Mason. I would say it's even, but I think GRC has more room for improvement. [iMO] They have more potential than Mason. I think by years end, you will see a top 5 team from GRC.

Clark is really young with the heart and soul of the team sophomores. Their ranking in BGP at #16 is about right. They will move up as those sophomores get closer to being juniors. The pre-season hype that had them at #4 or #5 was a little too much to expect so quick. They may sneak back into the Top 10, but not until mid-Feb or so.

 

Comparitive scores for those who like them. They don't really mean alot to be honest, but a few weeks ago Elliott beat GRC by 21 and tonight Scott beats them by 20. Kinda things that makes one go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

yes and what about that 41 point loss to Corbin. There was way too much hype and pressure put on this team over the summer and preseason. Does GRC play South Laurel this year, if so, Id like to see that one with St John pitted against Zollo. St John is age eligible to be a Sophomore...just turned 17.

He started out at Flemming County. He started their as an 8th grader and then before his freshman year moved to Clark Co. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yeh, that 41 pt. loss to Corbin is puzzling to me, especially after Corbin loses to Knox Central. That means that Corbin would beat Scott County and Elliott County by 20 pts. Don't think so..........................................

Just shows to me how young and erratic GRC is in the early season.

Those games were Pre Season. You can't read to much into them IMO.
