Yeh, that 41 pt. loss to Corbin is puzzling to me, especially after Corbin loses to Knox Central. That means that Corbin would beat Scott County and Elliott County by 20 pts. Don't think so..........................................

Honestly I wouldn't compare scores to judge a team. It's all about the match ups and obviously GRC just didn't didn't match up well with SC.

Those games were Pre Season. You can't read to much into them IMO.

Holmes beat South Laurel in 04/05 by 25 in preseason (SL had all their players) but SL went on to win the state title. Does that mean Holmes would have won the state title had they not lost to Warren Central in the first round? Probably not. Preseason wins mean absolutely nothing.

You are correct, it's ll about match ups and no one in the 11th matches up with mighty Scott County. They will run thruough the 11th with ease. They can relax, because they may be a lock to win the 11th.

I never once said nobody from the 11th couldn't match up with SC. I personally think Bryan Station is the favorite IMO.

He started out at Flemming County. He started their as an 8th grader and then before his freshman year moved to Clark Co. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I only said the kind of things that make one go hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I put it on there for those who like to use it to get their knee jerk reaction. I've said in other posts that the math doesn't work & I agree it is about head to head match-ups. You also used the Covington Catholic lose last year by Elliott to your advantage in stating that Holmes would beat Elliott by xxxx number of points since Holmes beat Covington Catholic handily last year.

They are very good , I love how Charles Ashford plays, he is extremely underrated, but the fact of the matter is he has been a player since 3rd and 4th grade. He has always been in the mix as a very tough competitor.

Clark is really young with the heart and soul of the team sophomores. Their ranking in BGP at #16 is about right. They will move up as those sophomores get closer to being juniors. The pre-season hype that had them at #4 or #5 was a little too much to expect so quick. They may sneak back into the Top 10, but not until mid-Feb or so.

 

Comparitive scores for those who like them. They don't really mean alot to be honest, but a few weeks ago Elliott beat GRC by 21 and tonight Scott beats them by 20. Kinda things that makes one go hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........

 

Yes you ponder now but at the end of the season when CC is at Rupp you will be looking back at this and saying wow I was wrong! This team is very young starting 3 sophomores and once everyone gets on the same page this team will be scary good! Just you wait!

No you are correct! He transfered here in the summer going into his freshman year! His brother and cousin also played here a couple years ago! He is an outstanding athlete and if he can stop getting down on him self when he makes a bad play he will be a top player in the state in both football and basketball

I believe GRC would beat Mason by single digits in a close game if they played tomorrow. If they played in March in NKY Bank of KY Center which they may I like GRC by double digits. By March these sophomores will be closer to juniors and playing like a Top 10 team.

 

 

I'd take Mason Co. any day of the week over GRC. Mason Co. is still a very good team without Miller and Setty. I've watched them play twice this season and was impressed with Middleton and King, both great players.

I'm also surprised they aren't even ranked (top 20). I'd bet Mason would spank Scott Co.
