I know, right...

Let me firs tof all say that it was an honor to be the PA announcer for this event. I never like doing basketball games as the PA guy but I had fun and they kept things into a structure as far as the announcements I had to make and I kept in contact with the guy up in the control room to tell him when I was going to be talking during a timeout or when he could play music.

 

Julie Raleigh was a blast to work with. After the SC/Holmes game was over and I was getting ready to leave, she insisted on giving me a big hug....very nice. LOL.

 

The BenGals playing in the game were awesome for what I expected. I think they both looked really good but I'd take the brunette over Adrienne. I will however say that Adrienne is a trooper for doing the Bengals game, hustling over to lay in the celebrity game and to perform at the half, and to go back and study for exams. Makes me tired just thinking of it.

 

I did see three BGPers yesterday that came up to me for a few seconds....Mustang, gametime and anther I won't name. He knows who he is. LOL.

 

The only thing I wish they would have done was to have scheduled the game times a little bit better. I really wanted to see the celebrity game go the full time it was originally scheduled. It was supposed to be two 10 minute halves then got cut down to 7 yesterday morning and 5 right before the game.

 

Since Dave Lapham did PA for the celebrity game, I slid over and did the scoreboard for the game and did anyone notice how the game ended in a tie? LOL. I was told to do it that way and to put up points randomly when A'Daeron Duncan, a.k.a. Santa Claus, did his dunks. LOL.

This might be random and kind of off the topic, but does anyone know where to look at any pictures from the games this weekend?

I was told the well put together emcee is the daughter of Si Leis sp? and is married to Steve Raliegh. He certainly married up..

 

She's a former Ben Gal as well. There's something to be said for making over $250K and all you have to do is read a doppler and go live 3 minutes a night.

I guess I'm old, and don't appreciate things like the celebrity game etc..

 

I attended the two games on Saturday and the last three on Sunday. Having to listen to screeching Miss Happiness for two days has to be worth time off in the afterlife. Saturday when the place was fairly empty she was especially painful. The kid from St. X stole the show with his Christmas song rendition which made it somewhat worthwhile, but Pulleezzzeee, knock off the enforced crowd participation B.S.. Terribly unprofessional.

 

In looking at the scheduled times of the games there is no way that they could be played on schedule and the feature game advertised for 6:30pm didn't tip off until 7:10pm after the celebrity game. We didn't get home until nearly 10pm for a scheduled 6:30pm event.

 

I'm sure that a lot of time/effort went into securing those folks to come play and having Lapham to do the PA, but was it necessary??? Did anyone really enjoy it? All those around me kept checking their watches and couldn't wait for it to be over. Boos would have been in order - but unexceptable, so we refrained. The Dunkin' Santa was OK, because everyone likes to watch slam-dunk exhibitions, so I'd keep that if they feel they have a need for extra-curricular entertainment.

 

Next year - IxNey on Miss Screaching Happiness, the Junior Bengal Cheerleaders, and please - No Celebrity Game!!!!

The caliber of competiton for the most part was a geat sell in itself.

Money talks and you know the rest. Lets be honest, she is easy on the eyes for a Cougar and I applaud her for her ability to stay in shape. I mean come on, what else is there to do with your day but go to the gym a couple hours. Raleigh hit the jackpot and I have a soft spot for guys with butt chins. LOL

We gotta get a thread going on what might have been the biggest display of overweight, non-athletic dudes and some of the hottest chicks in the history of one of these things.

 

Ben Gal girls looked good and hustled their tails off. The blonde might need to ice her elbow as she seemed to jack up more shots then Stephon Marbury in an NBA game. Steve Raleigh with the "no look" passes were just sick. NOT. Brad Johanson falling at mid court was pretty comical. The little Furniture Fair guy was freakin great. I kept hoping he would snatch a steal and go coast to coast.

 

IMO this Celebrity game cost me the ability to watch the entire Scott Co/Holmes game as I was forced to leave at 7:45 for my son's own Tourney game.

 

Great cause but just god awful basketball. I told a buddy of mine, heck this makes me feel like an all star and I havent played hoops in a few years. LOL

 

Yes! That game was great comedy. Me and my buddies in the stands couldn't stop laughing ... even though those Ben Gal chicks were pretty hot.
