So do a lot of other teams in weak regions, and but they aren't considered to be the best in the state just because they run through their schedule, especially if they get beat by every top 10 team they play!, like i said, they are good, but not the best in the state, point blank.:thumb:

Timmy Knipp had a nice dunk, Bad Call on the T for hanging on the rim, also knocked the lights out on three's. Ferguson and Faulkners looked great. The whole team looked like the best in the State.

Best in the state? these statements are starting to startle me on here, first you all say that Elliot is the best in the nation, and then this? I mean they are very good but I bet a lot of teams could look like the best in the state against Lewis County. I will not completely be on the Elliot county band wagon until they make it to Rupp (which more than likely they will) and then they beat a solid top ten team, not "play them close", I mean beat them.

 

The person you are referring to, I'm pretty sure did not say Elliott was best in the nation... What they said was Elliott could play with anyone in the state or nation.

They sure won't get tested in the 16th. East Carter would play them better than anyone but don't think they can beat them.

 

If I were Elliott Co. I certainly wouldn't overlook East because they have a very good team that I think is capable of beating Elliott Co. on a given night.

Lewis County was missing a starting guard, not that it would have mattered. No stats yet. In an earlier game East Carter dominated Rowan County. Rowan could not handle any pressure at all and flat out cannot shoot.

 

Actually Lewis County was without their entire starting backcourt and their sixth man, but it wouldn't have mattered against mighty Elliott.

Congratulations to the Lions, It's nice to hear that you have won another one. I hope to make at least one of your games this year. If you make it to Rupp (and you should), I'll be there. Again congratulations because every win is a good win. Your last loss was in the state tournament last year by 4 points to Mason County and no one else got any closer than nine. So, good luck and hoping for many many more victories.

South Charleston is very capable of beating Elliott County.

 

I've watched South Charleston play and they are by no means an outstanding team. They are not the same caliber of the top teams in Kentucky. I would not consider this a really tough game...

I do think Elliott is the best in the state, but of course, that's just my opinion.

I dont know if some of you fans ever get out of Salt Lick any but too say Elliot County is the best team in the state is just plain ridiculous! I do agree, they are no doubt one of the top ten teams in the state but definately not number one! I have seen Elliot play this year and they are very good but for instance if Elliot County played a team like Duncanville, TX like Scott County did they would get run out of the gym by 30+ points. I am 100% hoping Elliot County does great this year but I am just stating facts.

Also for the record I wish EC the best. I love seeing small schools succeed. If the state championship banner gets raised anywhere other than inside Royal Nation, I hope its in Elliott Co.
