I completely agree. Fifteen games inside that weak of a region is dishonorable to their players, and does not prove them ready come tournament time. Oh wait they don't have to worry come tournament time because the region is so weak.

 

Do you really think those 15 games are going to hurt Elliott Co so bad that they arent going to be able to win come tourney time?

Everyone needs to stop and Think, Elliott will need to go back to a more modest schedule next year, and it is not that easy just to pick up games from the bigger schools , so they have done what they need to do. Come tourney time they will be more than ready!:thumb:

That is one of the most ridiculous comments I have ever read on this board. Because they play 15 game against their own region they won't be able to beat the good teams.

Yes I have and I agree they are serious basketball players and have that basketball savvy. I saw them play in this game against Lewis County and they looked impressive. All I am saying is people need to get realistic and understand that Elliot County can not play with any team in the nation. For people to say that, proves they really must not watch any basketball besides the basketball going on in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.

Last year at Rupp they played with the winner of the Sweet 16, so I would say they can play with the big guys. I am not saying they will win all the games, but they can play with them. And the Lewis Co game was not a good game to watch.

What about when they lost too them by 30 points earlier in the year? But if you do wanna talk about bad games to watch the way Mason County played in that Sweet Sixteen game against Elliot County last year was a terribly played game for them.

Some of you fail to realize that 4 of Elliot County starters have already played against the best competition already all over the country. There is nothing in the State of Kentucky that will scare them. They have already competed agasint the best in the country and came out on top most of the time.

How many other teams in the state can list 4 players on their team that have competed and beat the best talent in the country already?

Scott County may be the only other team that can match up their "national schedule". I wouldn't be too worried about Elliot's "warmup" schedule before they get to Rupp. They have already been tested- and passed:thumb:

1. Elliott County is a very good team.

2. They do not have the size, athleticism, or depth to play with a top 20 team in the nation. They have a lot of heart, but teams like Oak Hill, Duncanville, St. Anthony's, or Lincoln would just have their way with them. Not being a jerk, it's just the truth.

3. Scott County is the best team in the state. Considering they did compete with and could have beaten a top 20 team in the nation I think they really won't stuggle much with most of the teams in the state.

4. Maybe Elliott should/could have tried to schedule harder, but their schedule really isn't that bad. They have to play a minimum of 6 in region games because of the seeding in the 62 district, and they have to schedule in the region this year, because they won't be experienced or capable enough to play a statewide schedule next season.
