Highlands vs. CovCath Buckeye Prep Classic Predictions

Featured Replies

Bluebirds smack around the BlueBoys and win by 10 or more. The nighmare continues for CCH. My how quickly the mighty have fallen, could they go winless until 09?

Looking at their schedule...probably. Only winnable game I see is Campbell Co, and that isn't even a given since they are pretty solid this year.

Can anyone else hear that bellowing coming from Park Hills? Stay tuned, I'm sure the ride is going to get bumpy, could it replace the football soap opera?

Doubtful. That had more to do with the coach. This has to do with a lack of talent and having one of their best players out in Shover.

Does the "Cross" have a shot of making the regionals this year?

But didnt we hear some grumblings in the summer about Listerman and some unhappy don's? LOL

Does the "Cross" have a shot of making the regionals this year?

Holy Cross has a legitimate shot of making the regionals almost every year. The Indians had excellent squads that lost close games in round 1 of the Districts in 08 and 06 to Cov Cath. In 07 the Indians' round 1 District loss was to a rejuvenated Holmes squad on their way to the state semi-finals. As far as Sunday's game goes, I think the Bluebirds will win. Probably big. However, I wouldn't be so quick to write the obit for Cov Cath's 08-09 season just yet. The combination of Shover coming back and Coach L working with team chemistry over the coming months will likely make the Colonels a hard out in the postseason.

Having seen both teams I'd give Covcath the advantage since they have the "play-maker" in Maile and overall have more strength on this inside and depth. Holy Cross defense could give CCH some problems. It will be a good game, but I don't think HC has enough fire power to outscore the Colonels.

Both teams should be worried about Beechwood.

Zero chance of the soap opera. If you handle yourself properly and treat people the right way the drama is minimal.
