It's not their problem the owner of your team wants to make money more than win baseball games. :thumb: I for one am not shocked at all to see CC in pinstripes. Kudos for Cash (no pun intended) and ole' Hank for getting the job done.
December 10, 200817 yr CC is for real. This is a great move by the Yankees IMO. We'll see. The last time he threw a bunch of innings in a season he responded with about 130 IP the next year. That won't fly.
December 10, 200817 yr I'm interested to see how CC bounces back this season after the Brewers rode him so hard last year. I'm also interested to see how years 5 & 6 of his contract work out... With a contract that big, CC Sabathia is going to retire a Yankee.

Maybe in terms of Wins and Losses, but I'd assume it has worked out in terms of profits, which is probably all that matters. I think NY will always have the ticket sales (because there are so many people) but I think signing high-profile names, even though they may be over the hill (not in this case though IMO) results in more jersey sales (right now) then raising a farm team. Of course, I have not looked up the numbers. I am just speculating.
December 10, 200817 yr I just heard this on espn "winter baseball meetings update show". Buster Onley reported the tentative agreement was reached between the Yanks ans Sabathia ...7 year/ $161Mil ! Way to go Yankees!!! :banana:
