I thought the Indians showed some people that they have more then what was expected in the start of the year as being able to compete.

Mason County defense is stingy. 42 in regulation versus Highlands, 39 versus Cov Cath, and 29 tonite. They just need to get in a rhythm on offense, get some easy transition baskets, convert shots around the rim, so they can get their press set up.

Sounds like Holy Cross kept it respectable for awhile and actually had a good game going. After seeing CCH against Mason Co, I think the Indians are a little better than people think.

 

Defensively...yes. Offensively, absolutely not.

I think we saw that if Holmes comes into a game with the wrong attitude, they will lose. They may have all the talent in the world, but if they don't play together or don't have enough respect for who they are playing, they can be beaten.

 

Holmes was up 54-20 tonight with 6 minutes to go in the FOURTH QUARTER. I'd say they got their wake up call for the year. Also Bryan Station is a solid team. Better than a lot think and predicted.

That's how they're going to have to play this year is defensively and so far they have done a pretty good job looking at their first three games. I think once the Indians start getting more shots to fall they will surprise people. I think them keeping this close opened up some eyes in its own. :thumb:

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, but we also have to remember this isn't exactly a Mason Co team of recent years. They lost a lot from last year and are still a year away IMO.

I agree, but they are still a top 20 team in the state and just blew out Cov Cath so for Holy Cross I believe it's a step up even though they would have liked to come out with a win. To be in the game in the end when everyone in Mason's starting 5 is taller then Holy Cross's tallest person is something and they did it with defense when they weren't hitting many shots.

Yea also considering Holy Cross is suppose to be bad this year and ranked 14th in the enquire, no rank or right up on BGP.

Right now, Cov Cath shouldn't even be in the discussion.

All kidding aside it's good that they are playing hard and competing. They probably still won't make the regional tournament but at least it looks like they have a chance. The last few years they had no chance.
