Maybe longer than that because of the positive influence, attitude and work ethic he would have on the younger guys, and as I said the Reds have the talent to replace EE at third.

When you haven't had a winning record in 8 years then yes it is.

 

It would be amazing fan wise but this time is surely capable of that and some more IMO if some of the right pieces are added.

Edwin for Rowand would be a great deal.

 

Rowand is an all around solid outfielder and, as LRCW stated, is one of the best leaders & most well-liked guys in baseball.

 

Just because you're building for the future doesn't mean you can't bring in a veteran. A guy like Rowand is what this team needs. We're a team searching for an identity. And unless you're convinced that Brandon Phillips can do that by himself, then we're in need of another leader. Particularly in the outfield.

 

EE may have a breakout year, but he struggles defensively & we still have plenty of major league infielders. Not too mention the minor league infielders...

How many AB's and how many years at the hot corner does he need before he's "ready"? I've seen all I need of both EE and Rowand, enjoyed you EE, see ya!

I really do like E-5 a lot and I would hate to see him go but For Rowand I might have to make the deal.

Agreed with most everyone above- I think EE is expendable. With Griffey and Dunn gone, maybe this team could use a veteran around. Even when he can't play, he could enter into a sort of Kevin Costner in Bull Durham role

You can't build for the future with all this youong pitching and players like Bruce, Votto, EE, and then stop in the middle and say well now we want to win now.

 

Realistically 82 wins would be an AMAZING season next year.

Ship him for pitching

The Reds have a stock pile of infield talent at the minor league level. The Reds are a little short on major league ready outfield talent. I like EE, but I feel a trade for Rowland would help improve the Reds on the field, and in the clubhouse.

 

 

Thats why I'm for it. This team needs a leader.
