I look for Sims to transfer. Not getting any playing time last night and only playingg in one game this season tells that kid he isn't wanted.

Burke can get it done. He had a great spring game at NC St. before getting out of there.

The most exciting part of this game was watching Norton pull out the nappy hair of Brooks.

The hair pull and booming punt were the only highlights. Sad, sad, sad. Even worse is that 5 and 7 will look good next year.

 

The hit on the Rutgers RB was one of the hardest tackles I have seen all year. I don't recall the Louisville player's name but it was a slobberknocker!!

I think that might have had more to do with the change in coaches. If I recall correctly, he had the best numbers by far of all the qb's during the spring game, but that only got him a demotion on the depth chart.

While I am not thrilled about the last two years of UL Football. I can't bring myself to put it down to that level. Cooper was a slime ball. Kragthorpe seems like a good guy...just a coach that seems he bit off more than he can chew.

Tony Severino always put up great numbers in spring games for USF, constantly beating out Matt Grothe and his predecessor Pat Julmiste. Trouble is, as turns out, it was against the second and third string defense, not the starters. When practice started, he couldn't sniff second on the depth chart, ending his career as a holder for placekickers.

 

Jamar Taylor tore the Alabama defense up in the 2007 spring game in Tuscaloosa. He's second string at USF now. I've got nothing against Burke, but spring game stats are generally meaningless. If that's what you're hanging your hat on, good luck.

The Cards are in dire need of leadership, either from the coaches or, better, from the older players.

Burke was at worst #2 comming out of the Spring. He told me that he never played a snap not against the #1 Defense. As the fall started, both he and a previous starter Evans, were told that the coaching staff was going to go with "Thier Guys". Burke and Evans were moved to the bottom of the depth chart to ensure that they took no reps from "Thier Guys".

 

A thing to remember is that Burke would have liked to go to Boston College out of High School, but O'Brien didn't offer, and I think there was not the best relationship that was developing. I'm not saying that there was bad blood that caused the demotion, but I have seen it out of college coaches before.

They definately need a new coach. TJ needs to step up!

Yep, and he will still be the best option for UL at QB next year.

Let's not act like it was Texas Tech's offense or anything. Before this game Teal was averaging 241 yards and 1.5 TD Passes a game. He threw for 447 yards and 7 scores in 3 quarters of play. After a decent start the UL defense proved to be only marginally better than last season. This year they ended up allowing 358 points to their opponents compared to 377 in 2007. This is a program in shambles right now--compared to where they were.

I never said anything of the sort, I was just saying that Teel isn't as bad as some make him out to be and he has excellent receivers to throw the ball to. Don't act like I was defending UofL's performance.
