December 18, 200817 yr It is really bad for the NBA right now to let this go on. Stern needs to step in soon and do something about that situation.
December 19, 200817 yr Brandon Roy had 52 points tonight for the Blazers... :dancingpa He's on my fantasy teams.
December 19, 200817 yr That Suns-Blazers game was the best game I've watched so far this season. It's shaping up to be a fun six months for basketball.
December 19, 200817 yr A Chicago store is suing Eddy Curry over a large unpaid clothing bill. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Eddy-Curry-sued-over-unpaid-clothing-bill?urn=nba,130137 In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, a Chicago clothing store — Casual Male — alleges New York Knicks center Eddy Curry ran up a tab of more than $41,000 on clothes, and two years later it remains unpaid.
December 20, 200817 yr Shaquille O'Neal and the free throw line will never be BFFs. But 5,000 bricks? Making only 52.5 percent of his career attempts, he's almost there. Don't miss this historic mark. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&page=ShaqFTs-081218
December 20, 200817 yr Kobe misses a 15 foot jumper that would have tied the game vs the Heat as time expires. Heat 89 Lakers 87 Wade had 35.
December 20, 200817 yr If owners are dumb, make 'em pay http://www.sportsline.com/columns/story/11178089 I love that phrase, not because it's so brazen but because it's so true. Stephon Marbury, the non-Knick, is being paid to do nothing by an organization that deserves all the contemptuous laughter aimed its way. I don't even want to take sides on this one anymore. I don't care if Stephon Marbury ever plays again, or if the Knicks ever win again. I just like the sound of the phrase. I like the sound of it because it is the definitive condition of sports in the new millennium. Coaches get five-year deals and are fired after two years, or four games. Players get long deals that in some sports get paid out even if the players are cut after a year; in others, they can be fired in a heartbeat and not get a dime. The extraordinary level of waste and stupidity is breathtaking, because these people have too much money, not enough sense and no vision at all. I don't know why this just bothered me this morning, although the firing of Paul Ince, the first black manager in the history of the English Premiership, after less than half a year was something of an impetus. I mean, does anyone vet candidates for anything in sports anymore? Is sports money so plentiful that you can sign a guy, throw money at him, guess wrong and can him a few months later while thinking nothing of the expense? The Knicks should apply for bailout money to offset the money they are spending on Marbury.

December 22, 200817 yr Kobe's new shoes - Low tops http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-lakers-bryantsshoes&prov=ap&type=lgns High-flying Bryant going low-cut with shoes MIAMI (AP)—The high-flying Kobe Bryant will now ply his trade in low-cuts. Bryant unveiled his latest Nike signature shoe Friday night—a low-cut sneaker the league’s reigning MVP donned in a game for the first time when his Los Angeles Lakers visited the Miami Heat. At 11.6 ounces, Nike says it’s the lightest basketball shoe it has created, and Bryant is convinced the switch makes the most sense for his game. “It feels great, feels great,” Bryant said. “I’m excited about it.” Many NBA players now use braces on their ankles to prevent sprains, and virtually the entire league plays in mid-cut or high-top shoes. But Bryant is sticking with plain old athletic tape for ankle support, and says that’s enough.
December 23, 200817 yr Kobe hit the Game winning 3 last night to save the Lakers from dropping 3 straight. Boston is going for the best start ever tonight.
