Congratulations to the Rockets. First trip to the state semifinals since the 1985 championship season. They handled Carroll County 35-7 that season...something tells me a trip to Beechwood next Friday will be a little tougher.

Congrats to the Rockets. The better team won. Mayfield did have it's chances but couldn't make the big plays when they needed it.

Yeah, the Rockets were the better team, Mayfield couldn't make the catches it needed to and a team that is going to throw the ball over 50% of the time has to make those catches. Good luck next Friday against Beechwood, man that drive stinks.

I'd say losing to Crittenden in the region title game. I still look at it as a better loss than the stompin we'd get from Beechwood .

All the same to me, they beat us twice leaving no doubt that they were better than us and I believe in beating the best to be the best so hats off to the Rockets.

Kind of a relief that this debacle of a season is over. This is the worst Mayfield team in my lifetime and I'm far from a spring chicken. This was such a promising group a couple of years ago but we lost 4 or 5 studs who moved away and had or are having stellar high school careers elsewhere and then the lost of the Stevens kid who was a promising lineman before his stroke. This is one I will try to forget but that will not be easy. We were just not a very good football team this year. I guess I can try and take some comfort in knowing how young we are and the talent that appears to be heading into the hallways but for now all I can do is just sulk
