Mayfield comes to Crittenden Co. for the 1st Region 1A title. In the first meeting at Mayfield Crittenden won 27-14. Both teams are playing well in the playoffs.

I say this one will be another closely competitive game

Crittenden 28

Mayfield 24

Crittenden gets points for playing at home, but not enough

Mayfield 17-14

Man, not much respect considering they won the first meeting on the road by 2 td's...

Taking Mayfield in this one in a close contest.

I'll take Crittenden by 2 TD's.

IF Mayfield plays this Friday the way they did the past two playoff games I think the Cards get revenge in a tightly played game. Crittenden is playing well, but the old addage comes into play...it is tough to beat a team twice in one season. Mayfield is by far playing their best ball of the year and after the game in Louisville the Cards were already looking forward to playing the Rockets after losing to them in the regular season. Mayfield knows they did not play well in the first encounter and are looking forward to seeing what happens in the Regional Final.

Should be a great ballgame and I will be rooting for whoever comes out on top in the sem-state game the following week.

I'll take Mayfield 28-14

I am going with the Rockets at home in a close one. I will be cheering for the winner of this game to go the rest of the way in the playoffs. If I wasn't going to the Fort Campbell vs. O Cath game, I would make the drive to Marion to watch this one. It could be one of the best playoffs games this year in any class.

My oh my how quickly us Mayfieldians forget the Caldwell Co. debacle.

FalconBacker, As much as I wish it were not the case I must say that the winner of this game faces near certain defeat the next week and its likely to be by a wide margin.

All that being said, I must admit that I would again be shocked if CC wins the remach. If Mayfield show up they win by a couple of scores if not they take a "L"

I feel that Mayfield has more talent, but Crittendon seems to play better team ball. Mayfield needs to come out of the gates hot and stick with it the entire game. It IS hard to beat the same team twice in one season, so that plays into Mayfield's advantage. However, Crittendon is at home. Either way, I don't see the margin of victory being large for whichever team wins.

I am not in to predictions, but I am not buying that Mayfield has more talent than Crittenden County. Across the roster I think things are pretty even and Mayfield is going to have to play really well to win this game. Not just a matter of "showing up" and having their heads in the ball game.

While it may be tough to beat a team twice in one season (I always thought the saying was 3 times in a season :D), the Crittenden victory during the regular season had to give the Rockets a lot of confidence. Revenge is also a good motivator though ;)

I look for it to be a great game either way.

Mayfield 21-14.

Help, where is Crittenden County? JD

Along the KY border (bordering Southern Illinois) to the Northeast of Paducah.
