I am not in to predictions, but I am not buying that Mayfield has more talent than Crittenden County. Across the roster I think things are pretty even and Mayfield is going to have to play really well to win this game. Not just a matter of "showing up" and having their heads in the ball game.

 

While it may be tough to beat a team twice in one season (I always thought the saying was 3 times in a season ), the Crittenden victory during the regular season had to give the Rockets a lot of confidence. Revenge is also a good motivator though

 

I look for it to be a great game either way.

Anyone who has seen this Mayfield team knows that they can not just show up and win like they used to be able to in years past. What this Mayfield team needs to do is show up like they have the past two weeks focused and ready to play football and keep everything else out of the way. That is the one thing that has really hurt this Mayfield team this year. When they show ready to play football...they are a very good team with a lot talent on both sides of the ball...but if they come out of the gates not ready to play or not have their head into the game...then we have seen that we can pretty much shoot ourselves in the foot several times and look like we have never practiced. So when some of us say that the real Mayfield needs to show up...that is what we are trying to point out...we need the focused and ready Mayfield team to show up to play...and not our evil twin brother...lol.

 

IMO I am looking for both teams to bring their "A" game in this regional championship contest and look for a hard hitting affair from both sides. Good luck to both teams and here's hoping noboby gets injured.

I agree...this one should be fun...just hope the weather cooperates and does not rain during the game. Right now just a 20% chance of rain for Friday night.

The rain didn't seem to phase Mayfield's passing game in the Bethlehem game. Luke Guhy had 305 yards passing at the half, lol. We actually had to go to the passing game cause the running game just wasn't there. I do think that the rain would help CC's running game, it would make it easier for Robertson and Gray to push around defenders on a slicker surface.

^If our passing D is as bad as Bethlem's we are in trouble:lol:

I just didn't think we would be able to pull off the passing game really, I didn't know if our receivers would be able to hold on to the ball in a downpour like that, but they did very well considering. I know that Crittenden's passing defense is better than Bethlehems and has improved since our first matchup.
