The Jackets beat them 29-13 to end the Tigers streak of 7 straight state title appearances. Middlesboro then went on to beat Mayfield in the finals. The Jackets beat Beechwood and Mayfield 2 undefeated teams back to back. I think the score was 21-7. I know I'm close about the score. The Jackets had a mlb named Floyd Branham. I have never ever seen someone dominate a game like he did against the Cards that day.

That is when the Tigers made their comeback. The following game in the finals is where they beat Hancock County with Travis Atwell as their QB 45-26. That was the year the Tigers won their 7th title in the 90's.

 

The game your talking about against Ludlow where Beechwood beat them 20-0 is 1997. I'm pretty sure it was. Beechwood was a 1 seed and Ludlow was a 3 seed. I remember that game because it was played on a Saturday afternoon. It was cold with snow flurries. The field was wet with very muddy conditions . Ludlow played with a lot of heart that day when the game was scoreless at the half. Was this the year the Panthers had a very good QB named Mike Lewis? The Tigers didn't have any trouble with Bath County and Middlesboro. They beat Harrodsburg 26-0 to win the state title. It was scoreless at the half. That game was the coldest state game I have ever been to with the snow and the wind. The 97 team is the team a lot of people think is the best Beechwood team ever to play.

 

I know that the Panthers will play hard but I just don't see them playing with the Tigers.

It was 1999 and it was tied 0 to 0 going into the fourth quarter not just halftime. So you got the years mixed up with that one, are you sure your right about the year in the semis when you all made the big comeback? Cause I was fairly certain that I have seen a few times the scores for the Beechwood games in the 1999 playoffs, and no one else really was close. I mean you might be right, however since that was a year Ludlow made the playoffs and did well. I looked at that year a few times just to see how Beechwood did, and I don't remember them having a close game after that.
