November 14, 200817 yr I'm sorry I got a little carried away. I was thinking album covers. Forgive the old guy. I was always kind of partial to those Roger Dean covers...
November 14, 200817 yr Her version is hideous imo. In Ms. Crow's defense, she didn't have much to work with, since the original is completely awful (unless you fancy yowling cats).

November 15, 200817 yr I'm going to add a recent one. I didn't think I'd like it, but I love it. Kid Rock 'Sweet Home Alabama" (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

November 15, 200817 yr Author Are you sure you don't mean The Sundays? I'm not aware the Cranberries ever covered that tune. If they did, it hasn't been recorded. Both of these you list are great (assuming you're talking about The Sundays' version). Sorry for the delay getting back to you. No I'm not positive it was the Cranberries as I stumbled across it on the internet and the artist on the site was The Cranberries. I'll say it certainly sounds dead on Deloris, if it isn't her. But I could be wrong, and if so, my bad. The cover I'm speaking of sounds a lot like a cover that got some alternative radio air play around 1993 or 94, does that jive with when the Sunday's version would have been released?
November 15, 200817 yr Author a couple of others I've been lucky enough to stumble across that I really like: My Boyfriend's Back by the Ravoenettes. And a Springsteen cover of Suspicous Minds.
November 15, 200817 yr I just heard Don't Stop Believin by Journey on the radio today, but it was not them. Not sure who did it, but I hated it. Great song, should have left it be.

The Sundays' album "Blind," which featured "Wild Horses," came out in '92. It did get lots of airplay on alt-radio at the time. Was the site you found it at one of the file-sharing sites? Because those are notorious for people mislabeling songs. For example, tens of thousands of downloaders think the country-fried version of "Gin And Juice" I mentioned was done by Phish because the dummy who originally uploaded it mislabeled it, likely costing the great band The Gourds lots of money in CD sales.

I heard it last week, and I agree it's really bad. I have no idea who it is, but they should have left the song alone.

Upon further review, it looks more and more like you are right, as I can find no evidence of a Cranberries version of Wild Horses. I'm now operating under that assumption, so what can you tell me about the Sunday's? Also, I know very little about the Raveonettes, but liked their version of Boyfriend's Back. What's your thoughts on that cover and the band overall?

I was at work and the girl I work with was like "Don't be stupid, this is obviously the Journey version." I just looked at her like ????. It was hurting my ears lol. I like covers, but this one did not even come close to cutting it.
