November 11, 200817 yr I can't see Holiday putting up anywhere near close to the numbers he put up in the NL in the AL especially in Oakland
November 11, 200817 yr According to that trade rumor site, Oakland said that they aren't going to turn around and trade Holliday. They are supposedly going to expand their payroll by 30 million this off season. If that's the case, this trade could be the tip of the iceburg for the A's. It's obvious the Angels are going to be good for a while, the A's need to play catch up and maybe this trade plays a part in that.
November 11, 200817 yr I can't see Holiday putting up anywhere near close to the numbers he put up in the NL in the AL especially in Oakland You are probably correct, but it's not like Oakland's park is the grand canyon, plenty have posted huge numbers playing in that same park.
November 11, 200817 yr ^ Who do you suggest getting. There isn't much out there this year. Really? There are some very good free agents out there.
November 11, 200817 yr Really? There are some very good free agents out there. There are very few FAs that would fill the Reds' needs. Which of these "very good" ones should the Reds go after?
November 11, 200817 yr Who are these good free agents? I think its like the All Star team from 1998 Edmonds Eckstein Varitek Nomar Giambi Jeff Kent Aaron Boone Alou Ken Griffey Frank Thomas Glavine Maddux Smoltz Kerry Wood See, a team full of stars:lol:
November 11, 200817 yr I agree. I am interested to see who Oakland had to part with. I hope that Jockety doesn't fall into that ole Cincy trap and believe status quo plus a couple of maybes added is the answer. It is not.:irked: I wouldn't expect much from Jocketty based on things I've heard. :irked:
November 11, 200817 yr There are very few FAs that would fill the Reds' needs. Which of these "very good" ones should the Reds go after? Rafael Furcal or Orlando Cabrera Brian Fuentes Oliver Perez Damaso Marte
November 11, 200817 yr That sucks. He should be in a Reds uniform. It seems different ownership and leadership and not much difference.
November 11, 200817 yr Rafael Furcal or Orlando Cabrera Brian Fuentes Oliver Perez Damaso Marte Yeah, not a lot on that list that inspires me to be excited, and none of those are really areas that the Reds need. I don't see a power-hitting RH bat on that list. Or a catcher, for that matter.
November 11, 200817 yr Yeah, not a lot on that list that inspires me to be excited, and none of those are really areas that the Reds need. I don't see a power-hitting RH bat on that list. Or a catcher, for that matter. Because I dont think they need a catcher. Hanigan will be fine. I do think they need an everyday SS. I also think they need to build up their bullpen.
November 11, 200817 yr Because I dont think they need a catcher. Hanigan will be fine. I do think they need an everyday SS. I also think they need to build up their bullpen. Why the confidence in Hanigan? I don't see him being any better than what they had. If Gonzo is healthy he is the SS, just due to finances. Who do you have in the OF??
November 11, 200817 yr It seems different ownership and leadership and not much difference. Are we suprised??
