Russell (6-4) starts the playoff season at home against Pike County Central (4-6). Russell comes in as the number 2 seed from their district while Pike County Central comes in as their district's number 3 seed. The winner of this one gets to play at Belfry in week 2. How do you think it goes?

Russell by 2 TD's if they play inspired like they did against Raceland, plus the open date has to help with little nagging injuries, as well as polishing up on some stuff.

I hope we see the Russell team that played against Raceland in these playoffs. There is no comparison between the team that showed up that night and the team that I have seen in the other games this season. Russell needs to get through this game and get everyone as healthy as possible for a monumental challenge the next week at Belfry. I say Russell wins this one 38-13.

Sadly I must pick against Central in this one,42-13.

I don't think that a rare Russell losing streak wil be extended to fourth game, not to mention them losing a third straight game on Red Devil Lane.

Russell wins in a close one.

I dont really think Pike Central can play with Russell in this game, but I hope I'm wrong about that. I would love to see the Hawks go up there and win, but from what I hear, they are still a year or two away from being able to compete with teams of this caliber.

 

If Central can avoid early mistakes, find a way to make one or two big plays, and gain some confidence that they can hang with the Red Devils, then it may be possible. But I see Russell winning this one by 3 or 4 TDs.

Central:

-Turns the ball over alot

-Struggles with run defense

-Pass the ball well

 

Pike Central moves the ball on the Devils enough to frustrtae certain Devil fans, but in the end they can't stop Russel.
