O.K., 10 seconds gone now. Forget it! Rams, all this does is put an even bigger target on your back. Do not sit back and rest now, a #1 ranking is great and looks great on paper. Rankings are obtained by someone writing it dow on paper. Championships are won on the field.

 

Stay focused, work hard, practice hard, learn and execute the game plan that your coaches put in place. Do not let up, play every play and leave it all out on the field. I don't want anyone saying anything like "well, I could have done this different or I could have played a little harder on this play, etc.." Finish the Drill, play to the whistle, when you think that you are playing as hard as you can then reach back and play harder and again.....................

Pick up that Lunch Bucket, go to work and TCB! There will be plenty of time for reading articles and praise when the season is over. The question before you now is this....Do you want it to be over? I can promise you there are 31 other teams in these playoffs want your season to be over.

 

Let's go out, play hard, stay focused and open up another can of Orange Crush on Friday night.

I would also like to take this time on this Veterans Day to recognize and say a thank you to any and all Raceland Alums that have served our country.

 

Raceland teacher and former Rams asst. football coach (and one that I am proud to say is a family member of mine) Mr. Wendell Morris is currently serving in Afghanistan protecting our freedoms and fighting the war on terror over there so we won't have to experience it here. Thanks Coach Morris! May God Bless and keep you and all men and women that are currently serving in our military as well of all of those that have served in the past.

Well put oldrambler, Sargent-Major Morris is a great man, a great roll model, a great teacher, and a great American. His service is greatly appreciated and should be thought about daily. He missed his son's graduation while being deployed and has missed many other things, by his choosing, he could have retired several years ago from the military, but choose to see this matter through, no matter what the cost.

 

Many people could learn a lot from Coach Morris.

Raceland if you thought is was hard to get to the number one ranking, then you had better sit up and take notice, because it is 10 times harder to keep it. Now, everyone is shooting for you. Beating you would make anyone's season. Every coach that is now getting his team ready to play Raceland is telling them that, "beating Raceland would make the season" for his team. You now have a much bigger target on your back, and everyone is shooting for it.

 

Rankings means nothing once a game begins, the team that is better prepared and exacutes their plan better wins. Nothing else matters now, win or go home.

 

Grab your lunch bucket, punch that time clock, and go to work. Payday is Friday, you only get payed for a good performance.

United States Marine I want to also give a huge thank you to our young men and women who are now serving to protect our freedoms. I'm not worried about Clinton County, I am worried about Raceland and their performance. I don't just want a win, I want improvement, and that is what it is all about this time of year.

 

I want Raceland to know that they have to play each and every game, and they need to play each of them as if they were the championship game, that is how championship teams play, they do not play up or down to the level of the competition, that is why I post the following each and every week:
