November 8, 200817 yr A lot of my favorites have already been mentioned, but here's three good ones from the 1960s: Water Hole #3 (1967) Carroll O'Conner and James Colburn were hilarious in this film. Colburn stole the sheriff's (O'Connor) horse while looking for gold hid at a Water Hole #3, which was on a map he had. O'Connor spent the entire movie trying to catch him and his only method of transportation was a small donkey. The Scalphunters (1968) Burt Lancaster, Ossie Davis, Telly Savalas, and Shelly Winters were great, and very funny, in this film. Lancaster lost his packhorse loaded with furs that he had spent the winters obtaining. Indians made him swap his furs, to a slave they had, played by Davis. Lancaster didn't want to but had no choice. Then scalphunter Savalas and his gang came through and killed the Indians and ended up with scalps and the furs. Lancaster spent the rest of the film trying to get the furs back, and some of the scenes are as funny as it gets. MacKenna's Gold (1969) This is a movie about GREED at its worst. Gregory Peck is MacKenna, and his gang is following a legend that they've heard about an all gold canyon. A certain Indian tribe (I don't remember which one) was the only one that knew where it was located. no one had ever seen it but them. The gang finally locates it, but greed and ruthlessness gets the best of most of them. Very entertaining movie.
