Applause for Sen. John McCain

Featured Replies

Senator McCain has served his country well during his life and ran a campaign that, in the end, he can say that he didn't waiver on his principles or compromise his character and beliefs.

Thank you, Senator McCain, for your service to our country and for conceding with true dignity.

I agree that McCain is a very classy wonderful man. I don't think he ever had much of a chance to win this election. I honestly think that the Republican's set him up for defeat.

I don't necessarily agree with your assessment of the campaign, but I also have a tremendous amount of respect for John McCain ... truth be told, more than some of those that voted for him.

No one can dispute the value of his service to his country.

He might not be the most charismatic person in the world and Bush hurt him a lot but I don't think anybody can deny his love for his country. I am proud of him how classy he has been tonight and always felt a sense of peace knowing how much he loves this great country! He is far from flashy but he deserves the respect of all Americans IMO for what he has done for his country.

I agree. I have a lot of respect for this man and for all he has done for his country.

:thumb: This one we agree on TB&G.

We saw the real identity of John McCain tonight. He handled himself with class and his words were true to the core and an example for us all to follow. Without guys like John McCain we would have no country.

John McCain is a true American Hero.

I thought he ran a very classy campaign, as far as campaigns go. He defended Obama on many occassion, and his attacks were minor. Many of his so called "attacks" were merely McCain pointing out Obama's own words and using them against him. How that can be an attack....ehh?

As far as his concession, I think it is the best I've ever heard. When folks booed Obama (like happens in every election when the opponent is mentioned since I've been alive), McCain told them to stop, and stood up for "his president" again. There's no way he can be called aything but classy. Just look at Bush's elections to see what the opposite of classy is.

I think he ran a very poor campaign, but there is no denying he is a great American. I thank him for his service to our country, and his pure love of being an American...

I'm pretty upset I missed his speech. I'm hoping it is youtube-able soon :).

For some reason those "Real American Hero" commericals just popped into my head when reading this thread....

In all seriousness, McCain is as classy as they come and a first rate man. I am honored to be his fellow American.

McCain ran a bad campaign, sold out, and struggled overall. I think he is a great American but he has nobody to blame but himself for this loss.

America needs McCain, and those conservatives who have faith in America equivolant to McCain, in orderto meet Obama's promises of change... PERIOD.

His campaign was a disaster catalyzed by nearly insurmountable odds and events.... he could have done it much differently, but tonight we all saw the real mcCain, a McCain we all must strive to be like.

Agreed...

They said something interesting on CNN. The man running with the best military record lost the last 4 elections.
