November 5, 200817 yr VA and NC have been bellweather indicators for me as to the state of the GOP. These are write in ink states everytime and now VA is pretty much in Obama's hands and NC is on the brink. Even if McCain took both these have been no brainers in the past. The public is ticked and have chosen to lay the blame (right or wrong) at the feet of the GOP. I wondered if Mark Warner running helped Obama. Warner is beloved in VA and crushed the idiot Gilmore. Our local Congressman (Goode) has had the closest race of his life with a practical unknown Dem and may still lose.

November 5, 200817 yr California and New York have probably the population of 15 or more states. So therefore the smaller states would have no say. But those states typically vote Dem, but it seems like the popular vote is always very close overall
