AWESOME effort by the Tigers. UofL's frosh got a lot of playing time, and G-Town definitely made them work for it. The freshmen all looked good. Samardo led all scorers I believe, plus he went about 14-19 from the Charity Stripe, which is awesome. The vets didn't play very well at all, but that may because they weren't in enough to get into a good rythm. UofL didn't do a good job rebounding the ball, but I'm sure that will be addressed in practice his week. On to NKU.

As I said, the freshmen played a lot. At least two in at all times. This was UofL's first game, G-Town's third. And the Tigers are no pushover, they are a very solid ball club...

Yeah I know the G-Town is good.:thumb:

Great showing by the Tigers. Glad Vincent Crutcher had a good game in his hometown.

This is the 3rd meeting between UL and G-town. Pitino must think he gets something out of it to keep playing them. A couple of years ago the Tigers only lost by 4. Another great showing this year.

Good stuff for Happy and the boys.

Pitino likes playing them because he knows that Happy's teams always play defense. It gives the Cards a good idea of what they need to work on and Pitino a look at different combos of players. No worries for Card fans. They will be very good before it's all over.

Samuels and Jennings played a lot because they are going to play a lot. But this close game means nothing in the grand scheme.

Great game by the Tigers. They're extremely athletic and very well coached. I'm very glad that we continue to play them in exhibition games. Passing was pretty bad today and UofL had WAY too many turnovers. With that said, things looks very promising. Pitino played pretty much everybody tonight. He rarely used the lineup that we will see the majority of the season and often had 4 first year players on the court.

Samuels is a beast and a pretty good free throw shooter to boot.

Jennings needs work but he's got the right attitude and a great work ethic. He will have a great and long career here at UofL, his potential is very high.

Swopshire's game is farther along than I thought, he looked very good tonight. He is also a lot stronger that I thought he was.

Delk is an excellent addition to the team and will see some good minutes this year.

Knowles is a lock down defender and his shot looks much better, he is going to do big things at UofL.

Sosa/McGee/Smith all looked fine.

Clark is going to be an animal this year.

I really liked the little I saw from Kuric.

Goode is going to take a while.

There is a lot of young and raw talent on this team, so they are going to be mistake prone for a little while but that's what these games are for.

Good to see Georgetown compete on that level, you would think that one of these days a D1 will take a shot at Happy, he has taken Pitino to the wire 2 of the last 3 years........

On a side note, did anyone see the ref bump Happy over during a timeout?

Georgetown gave UK a run a couple years back. They always have a solid team. The only thing I can find wrong with your post is that 73% from the line wouldn't be what I would call "awesome". :D

It's good for a big man. Most D-I big men struggle to hit 65 pct. from the line.

73% is very nice for a post player, and one who will be fouled a bunch this season.

Happy has been pursued by D1 programs ans offered head coaching jobs. They all have been mid-majors that he felt weren't as good of programs as Georgetown.

73% is pretty good. But far from awesome!
