How can you say that?

The odds are stacked against him and he has had to run a good campaign just to stay competitive.

 

• Unpopular President from his party.
  
• Horrible economy that is blamed on his party.
  
• A media that is so tilted and bias towards his opponent it is shockingly sad.
  
• Facing a candidate that reneged on a pledge to take public financing (which will change Presidential races forever as the Republican candidate in 2012 won't take public money then) and has about 6 times the money he does.
  
• A candidate that is very well liked and seen as a historical choice of messianic portion.
  

 

And he still has a chance to win.

How can you say that?

 

Because I'm dissappointed that he doesn't seem to know how to play "hardball" (or is reluctant to do so). The presidential race is not a "gentleman's game", it is a battle - it is a bare-knuckled brawl. McCain has taken issues "off the table" that I think were legitimate.

 

Fortunately for him, others have battled for him.

Dick Morris was talking about some Republican group that have purchased 6 million worth of advertising this week and will have a lot of Rev Wright stuff in it. That is MORE than what Obama spent on the informercial and more than McCain will spend this weekend.

I think he has decided that he would rather lose and feel that his integrity is in tact than to sell his soul to the devil, so to speak, and win.

 

I cannot say I blame him for it. In fact, I wish more politicians would do that.

 

The Obama/Biden ticket cannot say that. They made fun of him and his war wounds and how it prevents him from doing certain things on the computer.

I look at the electoral map and I just don't see it happening. Still, he's a lot closer at this point than I had figured he'd be.

Zogby generally shows better poll numbers for Republicans for some reason.

 

Gallup has it 51-43 Obama.

CNN Poll of Polls has it 50-43 Obama.

CBS News has it 51-40 for Obama.

Fox News has it 47-44 for Obama.

ARG has it 50-45 for Obama.
