Looks like the same deer to me. Look at the roughed hair on its left hip. Looks the same in both pictures. Different angle, can't tell much about the rack to see any difference. Let it walk

Those two are actually the same, The two I was asking about are in links at the top.

Both have huge potential to be monsters if they can live another season or two. If I needed meat either one would be a shooter.

I'd pass on both.

I'd pass on both.

Agreed. Give them another season or two, then ask the question to the BGP'ers and see what reaction you get.

Exactly, that first buck will be outside his ears and may approach 200lbs on hoof. Not so sure about the second one, perhaps 2 more seasons, if he makes it that far:irked:, and he'll be a dandy.

FWIW, I have been in this situation many times. I have owned my own farm of 300+ acres, we took a huge amt of does off of it, and were very selective on the bucks we did take, only to drive down the road and see a forked horn we had on camera laying in the back of a truck of some guys that hunted the neighbors property. Very frustrating to say the least. We sold that farm and currently lease a farm of 600+ acres and still use the same rule of thumb when sizing up potential shooters. Even though you can't control what others do around you, if you want any chance at all at taking a trophy, let those walk and pray the guy down the road doesn't take him. You know, it's all about the talk the next day at the water cooler about the "buck" he got. Not throwing any stones here at all, but if you're hunting to fill the freezer, take a slickhead!!!

Sorry about the rant!:flame:

If I were gunhunting I would probably pass on them, But with A bow I'd probably take them. You get fewer good oppurtunities with a bow.

Agreed, looking for the BIG bucks.

I said #2 because those eyes are freakin' scary!!!!!!!!!! :scared:

:creepy: Agreed

I would let them both walk. Neither deer looks to be any older then 2 1/2. I would give them 2 more years if you are looking for a trophy buck. Plenty of slick heads running around if you are looking for back straps.

Great post. I agree.:thumb:
