I would shoot neither. I would give them a nice meal along with a cool drink and send them on their way. Now, my brother he is quite the hunter......

Well just so you know, I'm not going to tell you where I hunt, but they are from "titletown" More like out in the "County"....

Actually, I have nothing against hunting I just never have done any personally. I do enjoy venison prepared several different ways such as in stews, chili or as jerky.

As for which one I would have to say that it would depend on which one was the first to walk by me on that day. I would take the first one past me that gave me a good shot, be it buck or doe. I would love to kill a big buck as well as the next guy but I am a meat hunter first. A healthy Doe or a Spike/Forkhorn eat awfully well. A person would imo have to boil those antlers and awfully long time to get them tender.

I will say that if I had the opportunity to take several deer a season, I would make sure my freezer was full first and then I would hold out and hunt a big buck.

Pic#2 is a young buck and maybe just 2 years old. Looks like the buck in pic1 is a little bigger, but not much older (kinda hard to tell from that angle though).

Personally I would let them both walk on by. I would be tempted to go after the pic1 buck if it were the last few days of the season and I had no meat in the freezer yet. Otherwise, they walk.

btw - i did not vote in your poll because there was no option for 'neither'.;)

Well in the great state of KY we are able to take only 2 a year with regular tags. So by me doing scouting. I am able to take a nice rack and meat at the same time. I have until sometime in January since I bow hunt too. I am a patient person so I do have some time. I dont trophy hunt, because man you save a lot of money by having that freezer full, but You dont eat the head... at least I dont.:thumb:

I would let them both walk. Neither deer looks to be any older then 2 1/2. I would give them 2 more years if you are looking for a trophy buck. Plenty of slick heads running around if you are looking for back straps.

To shoot either deer is IMO, the hunters choice.

If someone is strictly hunting for meat then take the first opportunity that presents itself for a clean kill. If you are managing deer on the property you hunt and trying to obtain the proper gene pool, then I would let both deer walk. They both appear to be young deer and show potential to become trophy deer.

Both are very nice but I would have to take pic #1

I personally wouldn't shoot either deer, but it's totally up to the hunter.

I would take either. I have one that looks a lot like #1 that I took with a bow in Ohio a few years back. It made a nice mount.

Looks like the same deer to me. Look at the roughed hair on its left hip. Looks the same in both pictures. Different angle, can't tell much about the rack to see any difference. Let it walk
