I'll give you the potential ambiguity in the terminology, but if you're a national politician and you don't know that the invasion of Iraq was preventive, not pre-emptive, then you're in the wrong kind of work. If a person had read, at the least, newspapers (including their titles) they would have had no trouble with either the Couric or the Gibson interviews. Palin is a laughingstock.

 

And, yes, please cut the leash on Sarah Palin. Though, Obama does have time still to capture every electoral vote.

None of the current crop and none of the former crop would have been prepared for a series of foreign policy gotch questions after two weeks on the campaign trail.

I do not recall liberals fretting over the lack of foreign policy experience of Democratic governors Carter and Clinton nor do I recall them bashing John Edwards, one of the most unqualified candidates to ever seek the office, for his non-existent foreign policy credentials. The difference is that Palin has an "R" beside of her name.

For about the first month of her candidacy, she was completely unable to speak intelligently on foreign policy topics. The indelible impression she left was of someone who had very little self-motivated interest in pursuing foreign policy knowledge prior to becoming McCain's running mate. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for her intellectual curiosity.

More blind partisan hatred on display from the left on parade. John Edwards was the Democratic VP candidate in 2004 and the third leading presidential candidate in 2008 and I do not recall liberals or the mainstream media bashing his credentials or belittling him for his popularity. I cannot recall such a thing happening because it didn't. Edwards was embraced by the far left as a serious candidate despite having no executive and very little legislative experience. Sarah Palin is the liberal's deepest fear - an intelligent, articulate, conservative woman who has broad appeal to voters and commands respect from those who have run against her (and lost) and who have worked with her to reform government.
